Amen brudda!

I wish we could just take this attitude, but the cold, hard reality is that programming the match against the Crows means that a significant proportion of people will choose not to attend. My estimate is that it will reduce the attendance from up to 10,000 down to about 6000. :(

Of course us loyal SANFL fans will still go, but the less loyal fans tend to be the ones who are more influenced by the AFL.

I think the double header is set in concrete for Saturday; the ABC I think had that one pencilled in.

I would think that the other two matches will be moved to Sunday.

This might be a stupid suggestion but we all know a log of South Australian AFL fans don't go to finals because of the extra cost involved.
Perhaps we could have the AFL game on the big screen at Adelaide Oval as a lot of people might want to stay home and watch it on TV ?

I hope the SANFL move the double header to the Sunday. Each team will still have a 7 day break till the finals start. If they must play on a Saturday, perhaps they could re-schedule the games to begin at 5pm and 8pm so at least the last game won't come up against the Crows.

Hopefully the Eagles v Sturt game will also be on a Sunday.

Sturt V Eagles is home game for Sturt at Unley and West v Central is home game for Westies thus will need to be day games as no lights and home games mean $ for clubs so unlikey to be moved from those venues.

ABC must have a day game on Saturday and have planned to cover both games of the double header.

SANFL announcement tomorrow I believe.

beats me why there is no Friday night footy this time of year...maybe North Port to Friday night and Bays/South Saturday at the Bay or Noarlunga to make it more appealing against the crows

Move Port v North to Friday night, and the rest to Sunday.

The ABC could then replay the Friday night game on Saturday. That's what they just did with the National netball grand final last Friday night.

Hear, hear.

If I so much as hear a whisper that the SANFL is thinking of moving the double header, they'll hear me screaming without the benefit of a telephone.

Screw the Crows, the AFL and their cavalier attitude to the local league. Keep the matches on Saturday where they belong.

Screw the less loyal fans. I don't haul my arse to almost every bloody game in rain, hail and sleet all bloody year only so the scheduling of the year's most important game can be decided for the benefit of 500 "sometimes" fans. Make noise now, make it loud and make it often.

I wonder whose decision it was to take the Saturday arvo slot. The Crows, the AFL, the telly stations? Someone has a lot to answer for.

Let this be the game where Crows supporters say to the AFL, they've had enough with being ripped off, & say no!
The way for them to get their point across, would be for them to attend the D/H at Adelaide Oval, with the World 1st Pre-elimination Final, & for only $8!

I'll be really f@#ked off if they move it, Sat has been kept free for weeks to make sure we don't miss it, Sunday is booked up solid, I've only missed the 1st 1/4 of one game, and the first 3/4 of another this year, I'd hate to miss the last round because they can't stick to the programmed schedule :!:

Being a totally selfish person *grins* can they please move the game times so that the Eagles game and the Central game are not at the same time. I have to do stats for the Eags but want to watch my beloved Doggies! *grins*

If people are keen to have the games kept as they are I suggest you email the SANFL and your club pronto this morning before the decision is made. If enough people email and say they want the status quo to remain, it has to be taken into consideration.

I have emailed both I hope the double header stays on Saturday
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

As a bays fan, i'd love for it to be moved for the simple fact that i play Saturday. It would be in the leagues best interests to move it for The AFL game though, it's just reality, people are going to stay home.

Why all the talk of the Friday nite final and now it's been moved?
