Luke didn't link the two issues together and neither would he even if it is the case. If it was the catalyst for our bad performance then it needs to be resolved quickly before it derails our season.

Please "Voice", are you serious?? Can you name these so called players?

His non selection would have had no impact at all on the players; they are a TEAM, there is no "I" in TEAM.

I agree, I really doubt the players could be that upset that an AFL listed player didn't get selected in the league team.

Why the hell would I name players. That might be good for people on this forum to discuss but wouldn't be productive for the club. For you to be even asking me to name names doesn't say much for you apparently being a Sturt supporter.
All i'm saying and all i'm going to say is the mood at the club was fine on wednesday, Mitch told the club he was leaving Thursday, mood was crap on friday and in the rooms before the game on Saturday (Luke said this today in the tiser). I know from talking to the players that they love having Mitch around so they would naturally be dissapointed and some may also have been quite angry that he wasn't given the chance. Not real good for player/player and player/coach unity going in to a big match.

Maybe you raising it as in issue doesnt say much for as a Sturt supporter either. I would have thought best left unsaid ?? If the players are so close I wonder if they have tried to convince him to stay or tried to.

Saying players aren't happy with a decision made by the coaches (btw I agree with the coaches decisions not to play Mitch) and that it might have affected the game on saturday doesn't exactly scream mutiny does it. Thought I might have been pointing out the obvious to people who were following the story.

If you take what I said on db.org in context I was saying leave the decision on Mitch playing league to the match commitee.

I can sort of understand the seniors losing by so much on the weekend, but for the ressies to get thumped by a team near the bottom of the ladder also?????

It wouldn't make sense for the players to be pissed off about someone playing ressies, it means someone gets cut.

Thing is, he was on the verge of selection and told Norman to shove it.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

With the injuries we've had this year it wouldn't have meant anyone getting cut.

But impetuousity doesn't lend oneself to playing a lot of AFL (unless you're Barry Hall). And from what I've heard he hasn't been fit enough to play league at Sturt for most of this season...let alone AFL

Interesting to see footage of the young fella on 9 news last night...seemed to concentrate on him a fair bit...and he was puffing pretty hard.
Sorry to see you go Mitch. All the best with your AFL future.

Farmer wont be at the Powder Puffs next year anyway. His form had been a bit average up until a couple of weeks ago. 2 dummy spits in one week isnt good.

Has gone to South Adelaide (or the Panthers)

Reece Homfray @ Messenger Press wrote:FARMER GOES TO SOUTH...

POWER-listed midfielder Mitch Farmer has a new SANFL home at South Adelaide.

The 20-year-old told Sturt he wanted a transfer last week after spending all of this season in the Reserves.

Under the player interchange agreement if an AFL-listed player wants to switch SANFL clubs, they are offered to the bottom team from last season. Given West Adelaide secured Matthew Lobbe from Port Magpies this month, South Adelaide was given first option to sign Farmer this week.

According to Sturt football operations manager Duane Massey, Farmer had told him he wanted to move to North Adelaide. But the Panthers confirmed they had signed the young gun this afternoon.

The tough on-baller, who played three AFL games last year, is now a chance to play for the Panthers against Woodville-West Torrens at Hickinbotham Oval on Sunday.

Farmer was the No.49 pick from the Calder Cannons in the 2007 National Draft and managed 18 League games with Sturt as well as making his AFL debut in 2008.

"Mitch is a welcome addition to our midfield mix and will join us for training this week in the lead up to making his debut for the club against the Eagles this Sunday,’’ South Adelaide football operations manager Neill Sharpe

FFS! I have taken a very balanced view of North big win last week in respect to Sturts performance (please read my post match comments on the match review thread) and I am of the opinion Sturt had a bad day overall which happens from time to time but can you find anything to blame the loss on? SOME Sturt supporters have blamed injuries, a 5 day break (which didn't affect another winning SANFL side), the umpring and now you come up with this "pearler" of an excuse???

How about the fact that North are a "reasonably" good side and just never allowed Sturt into the game and we outplayed you? Geez - almost is the best "excuse for a loss" post I have ever read

You take me wrong drebin. I have done nothing but praise your boys in the review thread. Just offering a reason as to why we didn't give a yelp.
To say it wouldn't affect players who were very close to him would be dumb.
Wouldn't have changed the result by any means. Bringing this up was more so because I was worried about long term morale of the team.

Then this is very unprofessional of the players IMO. If he was in a car crash, badly injured at work, etc then fair enough, but not because one player was leaving the club.
