As good as Glenelg were last night I was very suprised how lacklustre Norwood were especially after kicking the first goal, there was certainly no fire or leadership, everyone around me was asking how they got so close to beating the Dogs?

To the eagle fan that started this thread- worry about your own back yard champ- after your ass kicking at Oval Ave last week, i wouldnt say too much. In Fuller the firemans words post game- "We werent competitive, and most of us didnt turn up"- so whilst the Legs face some issues, word is that your coach is in his last season weather he likes it or not!

Agree with Adelaide Hawk, I was very surprised by the high expectations for Norwood this season when in all likelihood, they weren't going to get a game out of Taylor Walker. With the inability to recruit for 12 months, they are now in dire straits and almost condemned to missing the finals for the next two seasons at least.
If they're not scouring their local zone now for talent, they should be.
As for Trevor Hill, whether it's his fault or not, his position is fast becoming untenable and with the ban on recruiting, it won't be anywhere near as an attractive job as it was.

The current list could possibly make the 5 under strong leadership and direction ... The coach can set the tone, but the whole place needs a culture change, from the top down..

I wouldn't have thought any prospective coach would be upset to inherit the list that's in place now, for whilst it's certainly deficient in a few area's, there's some legitimate talent among the names.

Performances like we saw last night (and several other times this year, and the last few) are a result of 24 individuals playing as exactly that - individuals.

There was no system, no method, no leaders, and no strength/resistance in the face of onslaught and sadly it pains me to say, Norwood play probably the softest brand of footy in the competition.

I didn't see the game last night but I reckon the Eagles against Sturt might have been just as soft...and maybe against West today too (taking nothing away from West who IMO have improved a siginficant amount when they play attcking football)

With Norwood not being allowed to recruit outside their own zone next year would anyone in their rightful mind take on the coaching role?
It wouldn't surpise me to see Hill there for another year unless a very iron clad long term contract is given and Im talking at least 5 years.

My understanding is they can still recruit for next season but won't be able to do anything until their 12 month "suspension" is up, which I believe is around 1 March 2010. They can still talk to prospective recruits, just not permitted to sign them. Of course the big problem there would be any "choice" recruits would already be snapped up by the other salary cheat ... errr ... clubs.

Besides, Norwood already have a nucleus of good players, they just need a coach to get them to produce ... a lot like Neil Kerley did with South Adelaide in 1964.

Incorrect and Hill won't be there in 2010.

Norwood have me puzzled. Based on their form against us compared to the Bays form against us I had Expected Norwood to win their last game.

I guess its still early in the season and some inconsistant form is to be expected but if you want to make the 5 you have to win your home games.
We used to be good :-(

Have Norwood imploded?

YES but so have the Eagles, Port and South

It's a massive case of what if's. Had Norwood not squandered leads against West Adelaide away and the Dogs at home the other week, they would be full of confidence instead and be sitting in the top 5 comfortably.

Well, well, well what a surprise another Norwood loss :o :o :o Now at 2 - 6. Is it time to say goodbye to Mr Hill. Expectations beforethe season were that Norwood were definately going to play finals some even suggested top 3 they look well below those expectations in actual fact I would suggest they will struggle to even make the top 5.

does anyone have trevor hill win/loss ratio since he has been in charge.i dont know if any other club in the land would support there side the way the nfc supports this side.

Or he's already jumped on another club. No need for a 'Help me find a team' thread as there was for that South supporter who wanted to jump off.
