I completely agree Columbo. At the start of the season if you suggested that we would win 3 out of 4 games against Glenelg, Port, North and Sturt I would take that, considering we could only manage 2 wins in 11 games against these teams last year. However, a draw and loss against West evens this up - games that we would have expected to win, despite West's significant improvement this year.

Round 10 vs Norwood is going to be a very important game to maintain a position in the top 5.

I dont mean it to sound like i think losing 3 and drawing 1 game is acceptable based on where we were last year, but think you also need to be realistic...there are probably a number of teams who are still a bit ahead of us and we have alot of room for improvement, and with the crop of younger guys we have playing at the moment that improvement will come but there may be a few peaks and troughs along the way.

Well it did turn out to be an important game today, it would have secured the top 5 spot for a while not just maintained it, as once again in the last 2 weeks we have won a game that may not have been expected but backed it up by dropping one that based on form we should have won.
Imploding - Not yet IMO, the games against Glenelg and Central have shown that the guys have the ability but inconsistency will get you nowhere, the mindest needs to be the same whether you play the top side the 5th placed side or the bottom side.

I still think the player mix is wrong to many good players in the seconds to many also rans in the league .
Mind u the seconds have a coach with passion that gets his side to play a great brand of footy !!

While in the league if it aint working move kenny to ff !!
Thats it thats all we have .

Imploding I think last season and this season is gelling the members fans and supporters together in one mind .
And you dont need me to write what that is !!!

Ex Eagles Fullback and coach at henley was watching today could he brought be back in the fold next year ?

The good thing about the reserves playing well is those guys are keeping the heat on the guys in the league side and if they are consistently playing the type of footy that the selectors want to see they will be rewarded. Would think a few of those good players you are referring to Micky (Rimmo, Cheep, Symmo and Fairclough???) might be in the mix next game because they have done things in the ressies that they are more than capable of..(chasing, smothering etc..etc.. not just getting stacks of touches), but they werent doing it in the league side. Now the same thing that can be said for some of the guys in the league that replaced them so would think they will need to proove themselves again very soon.

What is this matt1 pick on Mickyj after he has ranted about being at another disappointing Eagles loss.
OK so I'll bite My money would be on Jeffries as a league coach he has the seconds playing some really good footy .(and the masses at the game are saying the same just ask arcade on fire)
Lets look back Rodgers did well with the seconds assistant to Ron.Macgowan and Norman did well with the seconds .
Should the club lose another Coach to another league club just to stay the same under ron .The Club is slipping back to what it was like under Bruce Winter in his last year .surely everyone can see this!!!!

Its time to start the WOODVILLE WEST TORRENS (not the woodville or Torrens era)era either have exWWT players who can coach or go out and get someone not associated with either or all of the past or present clubs.

There I said it Matt1 I came out of the coaching closet !!!! ;)
And the Eagles can only implode if they showed up !!!
