If you need to be offensive and swear your guts out get the hell out of the family friendly areas. A good thing! =D>

All the signage in the world wont stop blokes like that unfortunately.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Rubbish.
I'm Australian I don't have to swear at the footy. I have too much respect for my mother and other ladies that like to enjoy the footy. I swear at other times, but disagree footy watchers should have to put up with the foul mouth of others. I think most even marginally educated people would be able to determine what might be offensive to others. It's pretty simple. Part of the problem is society consistantly lowering the "bar" on what's acceptable.
Oh, for the days when Abusive Language, along with Public Drunkeness, could get you locked up for the night and into Court next day.. Bring it back!! 8)
Seriously, surely no one with kids wants them to grow up thinking either is acceptable public behaviour.
It certainly wouldn't help them in the job market if they did.

It could depend what industry you want to get into...
It wouldn't bother me if I were hiring factory workers and reps in related industries, but in some businesses image matters more than others.

Spot on Wedgie it is part of the Assie culture to have a crack and a sledge at the footy. Also it is your right to abuse them white maggots.

"Offensive Language and Behaviour will not be tolerated" and urges anyone that sees any of the said behaviour to contact a security official so that it can be dealt with."

So if I hear a coach or player swear or I see an umpire make a wrong decision (which I find terribly offensive behaviour) I can inform Weslo and they'll escort the offenders out immediately?
In fact Central as a whole behave in an offensive manner as they kick lots of goals, Im getting on the phone to security now to escort them out of the competition.
And as for bars that serve Japanese crud and not Coopers, can you get any more offensive behaviour than that?
This week onwards will be very interesting.

I agree. It's normally the worst in the last quarter when the piss takes hold as well. I don't mind the odd f and c amongst my mates out of earshot, but yelling that sort of stuff out so half the oval can hear you is offensive IMHO.

How could you possibly expect a South* fan to not swear at a game?

if you don't like it you go into the family area, i don't want littlebayman hearing it so we sit in the ffa & haven't had a problem at any ground ever

At a football match it is reasonable to expect a bit of low-level swearing. An occasional 'sh!t', 'b@stard' or 'w@nker'. Got a problem with this, stand in the family friendly area.

But to be dropping Fs and Cs every other word at maximum volume is another thing entirely.

Perhaps each ground needs a family-unfriendly area, acoustically insulated from the rest of the ground, where the riff-raff can swear like sailors with impunity?

What about if you used all the profanities in one sentence? ie, SHIT, THAT BASTARD MICKELJOHN IS A WANKER! Is that deemed acceptable?

Why did it take so long for us to get a mention? Our rep must be fading. Watch out this weekend Alberton. Just kidding ;)
We've improved in the Sturt CS but since you're a North supporter you probably seen the worst of us last weekend. Frustrating game in which the profanities probably flowed freely from the CS. We have tried to cut out the F's unless necessary  and i reckon i've only ever heard the C word said once at a footy game.
In the end though, they are only words people and it is a good way to show your kids what not to be when they grow up. Shelter them and they will go one of a couple of ways, rebel against everything you've ever taught them or not be able to handle what life throws at them when they have to cope on their own.

Must admit Ive heard some shocking stories about the Sturt Cheer Squad but have never had a problem with them and usually go and chat to one or two of them everytime we play them with only good humour exchanged.

Mind you not everyone can be angels like the Grog Squad, I don't think I've ever heard those chaps swear once!

I don't have a problem with supporters who attempt to be humourous with creative foul language. I enjoy the banter.
What pi$$e$ me off is when a person who hates the world just happens to invade my space and serves up what is basic toss to the point of idiocy and has tones of violence.
Ten years have passed since the day at the playground at Unley, but that 20 minutes of crappola that I endured with the previously mentioned nutter still occasionally appears in my memory.
Redden Whites your attempt at humour has been noted...you're a very funny poster! =))
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.
