Norwood barrackers
Instead of canning the coach and players
Give credit where its due
This was a stunning performance by WA to win this game
NW first qtr was awesome and closeto the best qtr Ive seen in 2009 by any team in the SANFL
WA played brilliantly to win, NW tried hard but beaten by the better team on the day

No question they were beaten by the better team bud, but c'mon, you can't honestly believe the coach and players don't deserve a spray for that effort?

Just one correction - I made the score as WA 12-12 (84), Norwood 11-15 (81), rather than the original score at the start of the thread.

Great win by West, overcoming a 43 point deficit at the 9 min, 30 second mark of the second term. Played the cleaner football when it counted while Norwood looked to go into their shells and play a brand of football that was dangerous in the conditions with a lot of handball.

Jason Davenport head and shoulders best afield, Brad Moran also great in ruck. Many other very even contributors that stood up at various moments. Some of the younger players like Stephen Morris and Aaron Fielke played beyond their years.

Would be interested to read the views of other posters on some of the umpiring decisions.

Chuck in Ezzard, Caruso and Hassan...

From what I saw on TV they missed a few head high tackles. Also, I forget who it was or what it was for but one free kick was paid and the crowd (either NW or WA supporters) went absolutely apesh*t!

i'd say as a neutral observer that the players (both sides) made a lot more mistakes than the umpires....today was the first time i have ever seen the goal umpire give the 'above the knee' 1 point scored decision today during the 2nd term

one norwood bloke yelled to the umpire ''you are a cheat'' one wise west bloke said ''they don't come under the salary cap rules'' i thought it was very clever

I recall one at Glenelg in either 2001 or 2004; it was at the Rugless Tce end.

Norwood should have put the game away but as usual let the opposition back in, was similar to South last year. Full credit to West who were extremely gutsy, I would be a very proud West supporter.

Moran killed us in the ruck, not sure who was good for Norwood to be honest...

I know you would have been there, I thought it may jog your memory. :) I'm leaning towards the game which was two weeks after the 1.4 (10) match - 2004.

good to see your going to support your team through thick & thin

Oh yeah. I've only been supporting Norwood for 44 years .... how dare I get annoyed after all these years?

It's not just Norwood, it's football in general. I just don't like the game any more .. as I said, this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Yeah for sure. I'ts not like they've given you any joy over the past 44 years  Just be grateful you are not a South supporter.
