Surely Norwood aren't that bad? It seemed they would be ready to take the next step and push for top 3 at least this year. I'm not convinced they still won't do this. My take on it is North Adelaide might be back towards the top after a slump last season. It is shaping as a very interesting season. Doesn't seem to be a clear cut team, or small group of teams to challenge Central yet. 2nd to 6th seems fairly even.

North were the better side and fully deserved to win however the umpires were shocking IMHo so I guess we're going to have to disagree on them and Ackland who I thought looked really, really ordinary. About the only thing Norwood would have won last night was the centre clearances where Doyle dominated.

Why James Gallaghers goal was disallowed, was a truly bewildering piece of umpiring which didnt even stick to the rules .. The look on Rowstons face said it all, he had no idea what to do.

On the whole though, I have seen worse displays than last nights effort, not sure whether that means they were good, or have been terrible all year lol

Drebin's right, Doyle is particularly cumbersome, scary thing is last night was the best game Ive ever seen him play for Norwood

You are letting your team off lightly there flopsy. Norwood gave away countless dumb free kicks. As for Ackland, you can understand why NAFC supporters get excited by him. They haven't had a ruckman who can mark or kick for a few years.

Brilliant summary, Big Phil, gotta give credit where it's due. Keep up the top work.

Better read the match write up and check the stats if you think you won the clearances!!!

Seriously - some of the Norwood fans bleating about Rodan not playing, the umpires etc etc. How about the fact you have poor key position players and some very slow on ballers. That might be the reason you lost???

The bleating about Rodan was "karma" to a degree (as pointed out previously) when your selfish **** of a coach and your Football Manager refused to allow two of our players to play 2 years ago due to an unintentional mistake on the team sheet when Norwood could have allowed them to play. We still won that with 2 players down!!! Clearly "in the spirit of the game" doesn't exist at the Parade.

Still after your salary cap cheating Norwood it would appear will stoop to any attempt to climb back to the top and win at all costs! I wonder how close the scrutineers are looking at Norwood this year considering the players they recruited this season above last years batch. Mail is that you might be done again???

If it was cheating - which suggests it was a deliberate act - then why did the club volunteer that it had gone over the cap and as a result, cost itself $50k in fines and recruiting sanctions?

I'm looking forward to seeing the penalties dished out for clubs who are CAUGHT, as opposed to those who fess up an error. Confess and plead guilty at an early stage, get a better hearing. Get caught, maintain your silence, plead not guilty and then get found guilty, lookout.

You only admitted it because you got caught!!!

Norwoods that rich and honest it will cough up $50k plus sanctions without any prompting??? Oh yeah - very believable!!!

Obviously the bit where I twice congratulated North on being the better team was lost on some of the slower posters here.

As for our selfish **** of a coach? He's a North man through and through, as you can tell by his woeful record at Norwood, and you can have him back tomorrow.

Hardly a North man through and through! He grew up a Nwd supporter, zoned to us, played for us and in between went to West Torrens!

Nup you can keep him!

Why would the SANFL publicly say that Norwood volunteered it's error and presumably give it a discounted penalty as a result of their confession? In the alternative, if they 'caught' Norwood, then why not just say so?

Face saving maybe? Anyhow it's done and dusted now - I'd be worried about this year too judging by your poor accounting and your recruiting!!!

Actually I must admit I was impressed with the size of the crowd Friday night, and particularly the amount of North fans there

AH, I wear those to prevent chaffing- maybe that's the reason?
