Surely people haven't forgotten what we did to Norwood at HHO in 2007. That was a decent margin.......

It might be a pipe dream, but I'd really like to kick 50 goals this week. There's one record I'd be happy to lose.

I agree about losing the 49 goal record but would rather wait one more week and do it on Anzac Day

Centrals were tipped to pump South late last year even at our lowest and we grinded out a respectable effort -- loss of maybe 30 points or thereabouts?

Can't see it being a blowout but roughly 40 points. Seems to be the rough margin the Dogs beat us when predicted to win by 50 to the power of 3.

I dare say If the 'Dogs were based on a ground the size of Glenelg they probably would have gone pretty close to 50 by now. As it is, Elizabeth has seen the ''Dogs kick a few 35 (ish) goal efforts over the years on a ground that size (holding opponents to sweet f. a.)

As for this week, I don't think there'll be much in it up to half time, and reckon Centrals will put the boot down in the third and win by 10 plus.......

.....and they will respect their opponents.

Two most recent ones being the Daniel Havelberg show against Norwood in 2007 (34 goals), and the game against South in 2002 where we won by 195 points (36 goals).

You just beat me to it Thiele with the South Adelaide side for the clash against the Dogs.

Seems Clay has reacted to the huge loss to Norwood with quite a few changes. Looking forward to seeing Nathan Lyons and Jak Kennedy-Hunt in action, have heard a few good wraps on them.

Very much looking forward to seeing the Doggies line up, don't think there will be too many changes to that side except Brad Symes going to Crows last week maybe.

Here is the Doggies line up for Saturday's game:

Full Forward: Ian Callinan Matthew Westhoff Jason Mackenzie
Half Forward: Eddie Sansbury Heath Lawry Chris Gowans
Centre Line: Kyle Jenner James Gowans Lee Spurr
Half Back: Luke Barmby Justin Hardy Ryan Williams
Full Back: Daniel Havelberg Yves Sibenaler Brayden O'Hara

Ruck: Jonathon Griffin Paul Thomas Matthew Slade

Interchange: Scott Dutschke, Jonathon Giles & Chad O'Sullivan

IN: Jonathon Giles

OUT: Brad Symes (Crows)

Suprised they are going with the 3 talls again in Griffin, Giles and Mackenzie but the weather is forecast for a good day so they will obviously use a taller forward line. Good looking side, although a little dissapointed Ash Duncan doesn't get a look in.

Very surprised with the selection of Giles. Over the last 10 years Central have rarely if ever gone in with 3 specialist ruckmen (except round 1 this year) preferring to at times play with just the 1 ruckmen. I have a feeling there may be some real pressure from an outside source (Port Power) to have Giles playing regular league football.

So Lairdy may see this as a game which we SHOULD win either way therefore a perfect oppurtunity to give Giles another league game without any expense and to keep the Power happy.

Here is Centrals reserves side as named in today's Advertiser...

RESERVES:
Allocca, Brading, Cochrane, Duncan, Dunne, Economou, Frail, Habel, Hadden, Henderson, Hynes, Kelly, Matson, McShane, Nason, Porter, Reichert, Schell, Switala, Westhoff, White, Woodards

Not a bad looking reserves side for the Dogs and of course there are a few handy names in that side with a bit of league experience. I counted 12 league premierships in the team and 6 blokes that have had experience in league ranks.

Good to see Daniel Schell have his first run of the year and Ricky Henderson, the Crows rookie who impressed in the trials, is back from injury. Looking forward to seeing the reserves game, South have a strong line up as well with a few league players being dropped back by Clay Samspon.

Yeah very strong ressies side, you would think at full strength and in form Cochrane, Schell, Switala and L.Westoff would all be in the clubs best 21.

Certainly agree with you about Cochrane and Schell being in the Dogs best 21 WHUFC, but the other 2 mentioned in Switala and L.Westhoff may find it difficult to make the starting 21 with a full list of players available. Switala in particular may struggle now to get back into the league side especially when some of the younger reserves players are making the most of their chances.

I think Leigh Westhoff is battling Lee Spurr for a spot on that wing and due to being set back by a long term foot injury, Westy has had his spot pounced on by Spurr, particularly early this season. Spurr, in my opinion, has done enough and shown enough promise at this stage to keep his spot for now but a couple of solid reserves performances from Leigh will see the pressure really put back on him to hold his spot.

Yeah, I must admit NFC that I was pretty impressed with the basketball convert when I saw him line up in the league side for the Dogs in their first trial game of the year against The Bays at Elizabeth. I liked what I saw of him as a running half back flanker although I must admit, I did expect to see him play as a forward.

I think at this stage, it may take a bit from the lad to make his way into Centrals league line up especially when they have the likes of Goodrem, Hayes, Schell, Cochrane and Moss, just to name a few, waiting in the wings to get back in the side. I most defiantely look forward to seeing his progression though, starting this weekend.
