Now for whatever reason he has returned to Adelaide. South offer him a suitable package including an employment opportunity.
Glenelg have managed to secure his services a couple of days before the start of the season when most sanfl clubs ,obviously would have had their lists finalised perhaps 2 months ago.
Hall has played for Subiaco for the last 3 years, all premierships including last year where he was BOG in the GF- the guy is no slouch!
The bays have already secured the services of 2 ex AFL listed players in the off season,
Hall will make it 3..........

But is a lifelong Glenelg supporter who wants to play where his heart is. Remember B&W despite your zones many people in South's zone play for you but don't grow up South supporters....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Not that South really give a f-----g --ck what glenelg do but I really find the Hall issue quite interesting.
South have done their time for salary cap breeches and the board has more than once stated to the membership that they will never be involved in such an issue again. This year SOUTH have recruited young raw and inexperienced talent, hoping that in a few years time they will develop into quality players. Cochshell , who incidently through injury will now probably be absent for most of the season, being the exception.

that isn't right because i know for a fact south hasn't spoken to him so they couldn't have offered him anything, he came back to adelaide because his partner is pregnant with a 2nd child & she/they wanted to come home to be with the family for support & infact chris had actually retired after last years final but he has done the pre-season, also i can add that a fellow snout is very close to chris (played juniors with him at south  ) & he asked what he was doing about footy his reply was i haven't thought about it, the snout suggested why not glenelg & he was all for it as he & his family grew up barracking for glenelg & the rest is history...i'm just hoping a fellow snout is giving a free membership for his 'spotters fee' ;)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Although he didn't play an official game in at the top level, Alex Grima was AFL listed at Hawthron...

In relation to South Adelaide being mentioned in this article I would like to make the following points before people get to excited.....

The Article states "The Panthers Believe", yet quotes no one from the club nor provides even a shred of evidence to state that the SAFC does believe that nor has promoted that view.

Secondly it states that SAFC Ben Kavenaugh as "being aware of the allegation". Maybe Ben reads SAFooty and is "aware" of it much like any other SANFL follower, various rumours that end in nothing abound frequently around the SANFL its hardly something new.

Go back and read the article carefully and you will see that the links made to the SAFC in the article have not a shred of proof to back it up and I do think that the club is being misrepresented as a result.

So where do you think Walsh has got the link to Grima/GFC from?

Where does any Sunday Mail journalist get his facts from? Could be any of:
A) one of those clairvoyants listed in the adult entertainment pages
B) some bloke in a pub who heard it from a mate who knows someone who works with the guy's sister in law
C) a hallucination suffered after dropping LSD with a senior editor

Don't think it doesn't happen Pseudo or anyone else! I know that some clubs will enlighten potential recruits to the distances to Noarlunga and Elizabeth and suburbia in those areas as a genuine recruiting strategy.

Also, when we there be a salary cap inquiry in to how some clubs can actually pay their teams $360k a year?

Most likely from heresay Dutchy,

When I did my Uni degree the first thing that we were taught was how to write a paper, one of the major points that was pushed by my lecturers was that all points made absolutley had to be footnoted in order to be proven, information presented without qualification instantly gave you a fail, and that is exactly the way that the above article is written. Anyone can write an article alledging anything, yet before people rush out to judge any of the clubs involved, lets see some actual facts of what people really did say rather than a heap of smoke and mirrors.....

Any salary cap is work around-able.

If the clubs aren't cheating, then they're kidding themselves. To be competitive in any league comp, you have to be creative.

I think the brown paper bag was more an enticement than the night life. Anyway, I hope he enjoyed the night life on October the 5th 2008. At least he could afford to buy his buddies a drink to drown their sorrows. I know the "old and slows" gave him a call to see how he was enjoying the night.

P.S You don't have to live at Glenelg to be able to go to Glenelg, for the night life.

The Glenelg boys last night (Rowey and Cornesy) had a real probing interview last night with a Glenelg administrator , lol. I think it was Gary Metcalf.
What a farce. A week before the minor round starts Glenelg still have room in their salary cap of $360,000 for their whole team, to attempt to recruit Hall. Every other club is struggling to keep under yet they've managed their finances so well that they can recruit an ex afl listed, Best and fairest and Simpson medalist. They didn't have to pay their players the whole of the cap, despite being runners up last year.
Amazing financial management Glenelg.
As am Bays said, "let the SANFL investigate".
