Quarter Time

West 2.0.12
Centrals 5.2.32

In breaking news, the Police have just released a missing persons report for West Adelaide's forward line.

Seriously, the game has gone as expected: Centrals still a bit rusty yet dominating, whilst I have no idea what West are doing but it aint workin

Half time

West 5.5.35
Centrals 5.3.33

Centrals went to sleep that quarter, with pretty much all the action being at West's end of the ground (that missing person's report has been cancelled). I lost count how many Centrals kicks went straight to West players, and how many sloppy tackles were laid by Centrals. I know it's only a trial but Centrals were terrible that quarter

3 quarter time

West 7.9.51
Centrals 6.7.43

Once again most of West's opportunities came from woeful Centrals errors. Just about every time Centrals had the ball the coughed it up with only a handful of decent plays that quarter.

Final Score

West 8.17.65
Centrals 9.8.62

The promising signs from Centrals last have been replaced by concern this week. I know it's a trial but losing to West must be a concern for Centrals.

WOW Westies had 25 scoring shots to 17, I know its a trial but you would not have expected that. In the past couple of years, Westies normally lose the close games, maybe that will change too.

Centrals kicking 1.5 in two quarters of football doesn't help much either.

Westies tackling was the feature of the day, that in itself said a lot about how far Centrals are away from their best.

Centrals kept running themselves into trouble trying to play a stylish game of football in windy conditions when westies had obviously come for the scrap that the conditions were going to throw up.

Clark was sensational for Westies down back.

Ryan Williams tried to have a stand up fight with DeJong and was lucky Thomas came and tackled them to the ground to turn it into a wrestle. The funny thing was the ball was now a mile away and young Beech was about 25m away and he looked at what was going on and looked around and realised he had to go in and save his mate, as he ran in you could see he didn't want to but when he got there he did the right thing and pulled Thomas off with force, not something that showed mongrel but got points for showing the courage to get out of his comfort zone for a mate.

Davies and Davenport showed that they will have an impact at SANFL level. For the power supporters dont get to excited about Davenport although in a winning team if he could kick straight he would be a hard match up, he kicked 3 points that should have all been goals

Laurie did not make a mistake all day other than to get knocked senceless at the first centre bounce.

Frail well he certainly looks brittle but he has some talent and will be a handfull up forward when centrals are winning.

Moran, Westhoff, Giles and Schmidt really didn't show a lot although they all had moments of good play.

oh and a thank you to the west adelaide trainers for patching up my little boys leg at half time in the reserves. Hopefully the lad has learnt that concrete steps and shins do not mix well

West kicking 0.6 in the first 10 minutes of the last quarter didn't help them much, either.

We played some pretty good footy at times today, brucetiki. The missing person's report didn't get lodged and I thought we might have kicked at least one goal from good play rather than Centrals errors.

whatever, there's no 'Clark' for West. Do you know who you were referring to?

As for Schmidt and Moran not showing a lot, I thought Schmidt, despite sitting out the last quarter, was just about West's best and Moran would have been well up there also. I'll be interested to see what the paper says for best players. Ezard and Bronik Davies were terrific.

I knew that I should have double checked that name. Actually meant Matthew Barber (no 4)

Bronik Davies was very good today, Ezard one of the best games I have seen from him.

I must say it is the hardest I have seen a westies team work as far as covering ground during a game, all the little things. Actually dominated the game from half way through the second until the 10 minute mark of the last quarter.

Yes, couldn't find even a score.

Warren Partland was at Richmond, so there'll be something in the 'Tiser, I'd say.
