Listening to Fuller on the weekend radio , it seems Biglands has had a few minor issues and Ron said they will need to resolve if its worth Rhett risking his long term health ! So I would say that unfortunately that little plan is all but dead in the water !! Obviously now we are well short on back up for Dobba , especially if injuries strike to him or young Redden & asking Kenny to fill in isnt the answer . Lets hope unlike last season when Pedlar quit in march , we react immediately and bring at least Pederson back , with a decent ruckman recruited also within the next month ! This is looming as a significant test as to whether lessons have been learnt from last year or are the Powers That Be all talk & little action . To quote the coach ....... " lets react instinctively " !

Was great to see all our Adelaide based AFL players at training tonight and was an opportunity to welcome Mitch from the Power to our club.

Players appreciated that training was mainly indoors at the pool!

Reminder to all the AGM is Thursday Feb 5th at Woodville Oval.

Would this be a record Spelly for any SANFL club?

8 at the Crows in Vince, Knights, Henschell, Shirley, Jacky, Bock, Burton and Petrenko.

6 at the Power in Stewart, Salter, Banner, Broadbent, Redden and Dawson.

A very handy list with only 3 coming via the local draft - again showing the quality of our junior development programmes.

West's AFL players attended training last night as well.

Interestingly, there were also 14, although much more than 3 via the local draft. Add about that number again for interstate drafted players.

I have based the post on Fullers own words , followed by thoughtful ( or thoughtless ? ! ) analysis on how far up the creek we will be if Biglands pulls the pin at the start of the season ala Pedlar ! Anyway , with your number of posts Mickyj , Im certain there has been only the highest quality verbal diarrhoea that dementia enables ! :D

Exactly , and thats why I mentioned about if lessons had really been learnt from the lack of player planning of our league squad for the last 2 years re Colville , Pedlar , no Skipworth again , Schwarz playing Ressies , too many kids getting cheap league games & bust recruits like Gogell , Roberts & soft Biaggi etc. . Pederson is still around & is a big man , not kid !

ross christie would run rings around pederson. we should never have let him leave 4 years ago. he is a big guy with a big tank. run all day and would be good swapping with doba

Yes , now thats exactly the kind of thinking needed now by the footy dept. & not in july when its all excuses & tears ! Ask the lad back for a run , test his skill level with some ball work , rucking drills then see what his attitude is like for league footy . Costs very little $ just requires a bit of off field effort . FFS , you cant convince me there aint any half decent big lads out there who we could get for cover in case of Dobba getting hurt ! Surely thats logical thinking , heh CD1 or CD2 ?

It is very sad news about Biggles - he did his running training well including last night. However congratulations to Rhett and Ron for being so up front in today's email to members that Biggles isnt able to play-on.

That's a shame for Rhett and the Eagles, I thought (if fit) he would have been a handy back up ruckman and pinch hitting forward for Woodville West Torrens this year. There will certainly be a few dissapointed Eags fans out there who will also be keen to see if they have a backup in mind for Brad Dabrowski...

I say get Paul Lindsay out of retirement, I love bagging him when ever the Doggies play the Eagles :D

Don't you mean 3 grades as the 17/19s is replaced with 18s. We would have had Bock if he wasn't picked up by the bombers.
