From our website - a snippet on our drafted lads.

Saturday's NAB AFL Draft has provided 4 young Eagles footballers, the most of any Club within the SANFL, with the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and potential by being drafted to an AFL Club.

3 of the 4 players were selected by the Port Adelaide Football Club which is not only a great result for the players, meaning they don't have to move interstate, but also the Club, as they will continue to play for the Eagles until they establish themselves at AFL Level.

Matthew Broadbent
Jason McCartney said: "He's a solid all rounder and someone you'd love to have in your team. He runs hard, he runs straight and he's disciplined."

Chris Hall
Jason McCartney said: "Chris was very consistent during the Under 18 Championships for South Australia. He played predominantly as a half-forward, but he's a quality mover and an excellent finisher. He's a good decision maker who uses the ball well and he was extremely prominent when SA came to Melbourne and finished off the tournament well."

Check out the WWTFC site for more details on all our draftees.

Come on now Mickyj, be positive, your club doesn't need "holdenesque" supporters...

Just wait until all recruits are finalised and announced, you got lucky with a few AFL recruits staying an Adelaide, you'll be right.

I actually agree with sturtpeter, I think the Eagles will make the finals next year, how far they go remains to be seen...

Nah mate I drive a Falcon your mob are connected with Holdens  ;) Sorry holden 78 only having some fun mate

I am sitting here with baited breathe awaiting some new recruits to be unveiled .
Will be happy with some new ruck stocks looking at who has left we are a bit thin in the younger ruck brigade with Lee and Roberts leaving.

I wonder with the community club having less hours and the Karaoke gone if this is a cost cutting measure .Or more money for recruiting. ;)

Yeah, he signed with North about 5 or 6 weeks ago...

I know that Centrals were keen to sign him up but I was told he went to North because they had a better deal on the plate.

Will be a very handy in a Rooster jumper in season 09...

That would be true if he was our only key forward. Of course it would have been better to retain him, however.

Ben was recruited as a CHB .Played ONE good game at CHB against south at encounter bay .After that his around the ground skills let him down.Ended up at FF by chance in the seconds and the rest as they say is history.Take him away from FF and he is a very ordinary footballer how he played so many AFL games is beyond many of us EAGLE FANS.
My mail is he off field antics were one reason the club did not try very hard to keep him .

And I think if you changed your post to WWT needs some fast small forwards that would be more correct.

I don't know that you should say that ccl. By all reports I'm hearing skippy is training well with Essendon and is being considered quite favourably to be taken by them in the pre-season draft.

As you may or may not know. It's a battle between the Eagles and Central for the services of highly rated Geelong VFL midfielder Chris Urie.

I had forgotten about him thanks WHUFC I wonder if signing Jay Cheep also ex geelong may go in our favour.

It may well help but i do know he did sign for Central last season but pulled out just before pre-season started due to family reasons, i also know that him and Travis Varcoe have became close mates as they live on the same street and have the same friendship circle, despite never playing in the same team together.

Im not so sure alot will depend on whether we get Sansbury, Obst and Ryan Williams. If those three became available i don't think we would also get Urie.

Plus i don't know what the Eagles or the Dogs have or can offer him. I have never met Chris Urie so i don't know if his the kind of player to be chasing money or so forth.

And in all honestly i think he would benefit more by going to the Eagles because i think he would be guarenteed to be in there best 21 and im not so sure that would be the same at Centrals (no disrespect intended towards the eagles.)
