whats the go with this theory? not havin a go, just noticed your not the only one to suggest it, just wondering why?

i think they should definetly play more games on a friday and saturday night, and also more sunday games. purely because of the fact that i myself only get to 1 or 2 games a year because of my local (SFL) footy. i'd love to go watch my beloved panthers every week, but simply cant do it. have we got a stat for SANFL games when at least the SFL and SAAFL have the bye week for the association games? just to see if the attendances increase that week?

If you've got a few dates for when the association games have been played say, since 2001, I could do it.

Association games usually take place on the June long weekends.

Ok, so using the Queen's Birthday weekend as the matches selected, the average crowd for a match in that round since 2001 is 3101.7. The average minor round crowd from 2001 onwards is 2928.4.

so an extra 200ish in that week. and thats with the association game on, which, for arguments sake, would attract say 2000 spectators? and i'd say some of them would also attend a SANFL game if they had no other footy on.

so IMO, more night games, friday and saturday, and more sunday games.

I voted yes - I'd love to see at least 1 Friday night match every round of the season.

No more night games at HHEO please!

More at the Adelaide Oval.

For what its worth, would like to see 2 night games out of every 3 rounds, if not one night game a round. Hamra Homes Oval on a Saturday night is a fantastic experience; Coopers Stadium is always great on the Hill, and Adelaide Oval at night has a special feel to it. Would like to think the allocation will continue to be increased as more grounds get lights.

On a purely selfish level...yes...it means I don't have to get up at stupid o'clock in the morning to listen online.

But in reality I'd go with whatever the players prefer...if they believe they play at their best in daylight and have more chance of a win then I'd say no to night games.

jas, i'd suggest reading player profiles in the budget the majority have said friday night as their preferred option to play so they can then have basically the whole weekend off
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

We need LESS night games at Norwood! The novelty has worn off for us and sides that only get 1 or 2 night gaes a year hit the park fully pumped!

YES. Love the night footy.

One question is why for 2009 Season has the SANFL cut back 5 matches at Saturday night at Elizabeth in 2008 to only 3 in 2009??? Not happy with that. It's a great night out 6:30pm family friendly time have a good meal before, great atmosphere... can't beat it!

Obviously the SANFL has taken the easy option with Norwood v Centrals at The Parade with two matches there for 2009 both at Saturday afternoon times? By saying the easy option I mean if they're worried about trouble have visable security in the ground AND outside on the Parade ready for any idiots after the match which is where it usually happens. I can't believe we don't have one of those two matches as a Friday night same as we did in 2001 and 2004 when we played there twice. Love the Friday night games at Norwood.

Anytime at night at Adelaide Oval is great as others have said just a special feel!

Would be great if they could get lights at Glenelg too
