I never saw De Luca play he got very few games and none that I am aware of were those that got on to TV in Victoria, but I was always puzzled Port didn't play Lade more as a forward and give De Luca a bit more time coming of the bench interchanging with Brogan if they wanted him to develop as a player. I don't think only playing in the SANFL is going to push De Luca to reach his full potential.
[By contrast the Crows have given Moran, Tippett, Griffin, and Marich, time in the ruck.]
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

Not much point keeping a guy who has been playing league for 3 years or something and still can't make the grade. Was repeatedly shown up at SANFL level and the power play AFL. He had a lot of improvement to go to be good enough for the AFL and wasn't getting better. Giles deserves another year IMHO simply because he showed signs of getting better in the latter stages of the season.

De-Luca is at best a competent SANFL ruckman. I would be happy for him to stay as back-up to Kurtze but that's it. As an AFL listed player he should be coming down to the SANFL and dominating games, imposing himself physically and mentally on opponents and turning matches.

Where are the last minute saving marks in defence? (could of done with that in the Qualifying Final)

Where are the last minute marks and goals in attack? (could of done with that in the Qualifying Final)

When has he used his height to his advantage? He's like 4 inches taller than MacKenzie and yet, with tongue in cheek, that fat pie eater wiped the floor with De Luca in that Qualifying Final?

If that were Barnaby French, Frenchie would of stepped up and imposed himself and at least broken even with MacKenzie and that would of been enough for us to cruise to a win.

The fact is he's an okay player. He's better than me... but I'm not that good! :-)
