Mate our fans didn't turn up in 1996 as they were still in the wood-work... :D

Bayman Crows v Geel assuming the crows stay 4th...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Crikey, Crows supporters are getting ahead of themselves, you'd think the round was over already.
Asking for odds already?
They remind me of Bays supporters!
Im not sure why the rest of the AFL or SANFL rock up, apparantley Glenelg and the Crows have already both won their respective premierships!

'06 you mean, some of the fans were in the wood-work but not all - 4,790 was at the Port game at Glenelg that year, 5.255 against North, 4,395 against Norwood, 4,666 against Central at Elizabeth examples.

Nope, the "." key and "," key being next to each other was the problem. ;)

It stuffed up the scheduled double header between Port/North and South/Glenelg in 2006. The stand alone Adelaide Oval match on Saturday for that year should have alone got a crowd of 5,000. Particularly because these two teams had the longest finals droughts up to that time.

Result? Just 1,992 fans; at least three of those supported neither of those teams.

Last season, just 6,831 attended the 4 games in Round 23. The two matches that had a bearing on the 5 drew just 4,282 combined.

This year, there are three more matches to have a bearing on the final five. This won't happen, but the only solution I can see is to change the TV match to West and North, and the Glenelg and Alberton games to Sunday.

I'd rather have 6,831 diehard SANFL fans than bigger crowds featuring pretend supporters.

For the reputation of the SANFL I think it would be best if the North vs West game next week is not televised.

From what I've seen of North this year, they are a good team. :)

There will be one game on saturday due to ABC TV commitments.

Teams playing tomorrow would probably want Sunday game so have 7 day recovery - especially Port and Glenelg facing Eagles and Norwood.

Sunday being fathers day if games are on sunday then take Dad to the home match lunches or lunch at Eagles Bar and Bistro on port road and then to the footy.

I hope the Glenelg Norwood game isn't changed, Sunday I'm supposed to be going to the show with the family. That could lead to some interesting conversations with teh Minister for home affairs and finace given that I've got a leave pass for today. Chances of getting two leave passes in a row especially on Show weekend????

Stuff the Crows I say, leave moving games mid season to the crowd at Prospect...

Personally I would be surprised is any games are moved.

Central v Sturt is Saturday night so why move.

West v North just want the season over, playing Sunday only creates inconvenience for those involved with the club and removed the opportunity to drown the sorrows Saturday night without work the next day.

Glenelg v Norwood is the allocated TV game and the league will not risk the ire of the ABC by changing it. Also the Bays (& Norwood if they make it) would want as many days as possible to prepare for the finals especially if their opponents have an extra day. Tigers already have the #1 home game crowds award locked anyway.

That leaves Port v Eagles. Magpies would be more focussed on getting Post power supporters to swap over. Both sides (if they make it) would want as many days as possible to prepare for their finals game.

From my own experience last year I can only say that at this time of year extra crowd numbers are not a priority compared with finals preparation OR getting season finished.

I hope the Eagles v Port game is still Saturday. Have had a Father's Day family lunch planned for ages. It shits me how they schedule Crows or Port games on Saturday afternoons. FFS! Now they'll change it so a few hundred more supporters might get along (unless its a bit cold or rainy, then they'll stay home anyway).

St.Kilda making 4th spot might render this thread useless. Well have to wait and see if the AFL doesn't change their minds about Geelong having the Saturday Arvo match...

Well now that we know that St Kilda v Geelong is on Sunday all games should be left on Saturday so everyone can experience the best game of the weekend live on TV or there.
