SUNDAY 31st AUGUST '08 Vs WEST @ BROADSPECTRUM OVAL

Full Forward: Scott Dutschke, Luke Cowan, Ian Callinan
Half Forwards: Chad O'Sullivan, Heath Lawry, Luke McCabe
Centre Line: Louis Hadden, James Gowans, Elijah Ware
Half Backs: Trent Goodrem, Andrew Hayes, Ryan Williams
Full Backs: Adam Switala, Yves Sibenaler, Richard Cochrane

Rucks: Jonathon Giles, Paul Thomas, Matthew Slade

Interchange: Jason Mackenzie, James Moss, Brayden O'Hara

IN: Jonny G - Jonathon Giles
OUT: Jonny G - Jonathon Griffin

Just the 1 change from the side that beat South Adelaide last week. No Jonathon Griffin in the team while Joffa Giles comes in after a BOG effort in the reserves last week. No Chris Gowans either, obviously he will not risk that hammy and save himself for the Sturt game, as seems to be the case with Daniel Schell and his groin issue.

Interestingly with Griffin not being in the side, I wonder if he is injured, was he dropped to the reserves by Centrals or have the Adelaide Crows held him back from playing this week ? We know that Griff has had a hip issue all season so hopefully he just pulled up sore and decided to rest it this week, but will still be available for the Dogs in the SANFL finals ?

So is it Giles in for Griffin or Griffin in for Giles BP? Maybe you just got them around the wrong way I hate it when you get it wrong  . Well i almost got it right with Griffin out and Moran back pity they took Tippet back  . No suprises that Gowans won't be risked nor that there are minimal changes at this time of the year. Hopefully it is a good day for footy and we see a decent contest.

 Opps, I changed it...

You can see how easy the mistake was made, they are both Jonny G's !!!

I hope it is a good day as well, looking forward to a great steak sandwich from the wonderful Westies BBQ...

Hopefully we see a BIG Doggies win just to top the day off perfectly... (sorry wycbloods)

I really hope that Beech plays his first game this week he looks like a beauty and a taste of it will be a good platform for 09.

For those interested, here is the Doggies reserves side for Sunday...

RESERVES:

Aufderheide, Barmby, Brading, Dimasi, Duncan, Dunne, Foldesdy, Hynes, Kelly, Matson, McGee, McGrath, McShane, Officer, Porter, Shaw, Slattery, Spurr, Trevena, Whiley, White

Interesting to hear that young ruckman Brodie Hudson has been told by the club he is no longer required. Even though Huddo played reserves last week (and played a solitary league game way back in 2005) he has been dropped from the 2's and Seth Matson, who was also told earlier in the year that his serves weren't required, comes into the side as a back up ruckman to big Earl Shaw. I thought Huddo had played okay in the games he was on the park, he had struggled him hamstring injuries throughout the course of the year ???

Footy Smart,

Mossey has been in the league side for the last 3 or 4 weeks now and has played on and off another 3 or 4 games earlier in the year. I have seen him all season in both league and reserves and I can say that he is defiantely a talent and would be worthy of promotion to the senior Crows list for season 2009. He has good skills on both sides of the body and generally uses the ball well when he is in possession.

More recently, he has been getting more game time from Roy Laird in the league side and he is really thriving on it playing on a wing or across half back. For a medium size player he has a great leap as well as a clean set of hands and seems very poised for an 18 year old kid. Last week at Noarlunga, he took a very couragous mark running back with the flight of the ball, very Nick Riewoldt like. Keep a close on this talent in 2009.

Cheers,

Big Phil...

No worries mate...

Of course, Mossy gave up a promising cricket career to concentrate on football instead. He was the wicket keeper for the South Australian Under 19's in the last summers national carnival and it was said that he had a lot of potential as a cricketer. I think if James can play consistant league footy for the Centrals in 2009, providing he is offered a Crows senior list spot, I reckon he might be a chance to make his AFL debut next year.

Cheers,

BP

I see Jon Griffen has been ruled out by teh Crows and sent to theatre for his hip.

Gee that is a big out for Centrals in the finals as he killed us under lights four weeks ago. Gave his runners first use of the pill and away they went.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
