West's last 3 games have been a 2 goal loss to Port, a 10 goal win over South and a 2 goal loss to Norwood. That's certainly much better form than earlier in the year, especially taking into account the average age of the team yesterday was 21 and a half. Injuries have taken their toll, but we're vastly more competitive now and have a fair bit to look forward to.

The Wolfpack's loyalty might just be on the way to being rewarded in the coming years.

As for Norwood, they're a fairly settled, experienced side and should be a fair chance in the finals, although they'd need to step it up a bit. On ball, Trotter adds a lot and he, Gallagher and Weatherald were good again yesterday.

Experienced compared to West maybe but I counted at least thirteen players who hadn't played fifty senior games.

Yes, I think looking at it from a West Adelaide perspective, Norwood are more settled and possibly more experienced, but we are certainly neither settled nor experienced.

The beauty of picking up a player like Weatherald was we were sadly lacking good experienced non-AFL listed players and our short term futures are very much in the hands of AFL selectors from week to week.

Trotter and Weatherald's work around the stoppages had a big impact on the result of the game. We couldn't get anyone to pay any respect to them. Without having a fantastic day Walker and Vlatko provided plenty contests for the players like Donohue and Phillips to crumb.

Lies, damn lies & statistics :)

You would only get 13 players not having played 50 games by ignoring the AFL nad other games played by the likes of Doyle, Trotter and Davis. It's also true that Cockshell and Duigan have played over 40 games, but not quite 50 (although Duigan has now).

I think that's more than made up with Gallagher 153, Weatherald 264, Dawes 151, Bartemucci 133, and Bown 163.

I think I'll stick to my statement about Norwood being experienced :)

Surely R'n'B isn't counting games played in the ACT AFL?

How much did they play, actually? (Genuine question).

I have to say I was impressed by Trotter, in particular.

I bow to the superior knowledge of my Norwood friends on this matter, so we'll agree I was looking at it from a West Adelaide point of view, where we had dozens of players with under 10 games experience on Saturday (well, half a dozen, anyway).

And some fine lads, too. The AFL scouts will be salivating over a few of them.

I was really impressed with Westies endeavour ALL day.

They never gave up.

Zorzi was magnificent for the Redlegs and Trotter totally impressive.

Norwood are an enigma.

At their best they are irresistible. Their worst....horrid

Good luck to Norwood if they Qualify for Finals' footy

Don't think Davis played an AFL game and Trotter about six or so. Trotter has been great, with the occasional error by foot, when his hamstrings have allowed him to get on the field.

Correct. Davis didn't register an AFL game whereas Trotter played 7 for North Melbourne.

But they would have been playing VFL, when not selected which has to count for something. But then again.. maybe not :?

Trotter hardly played at all, that is why he was delisted by North Melbourne. If we are going to include VFL games as experience, why not throw in underage and school matches as well?

But surely you wouldn't call Alleway, Allen, Zorzi or Callinan inexperienced players when they came to the SANFL?
