FINAL SCORE

SOUTH 3.8.26

WEST 12.18.90

RESERVES

SOUTH 4.10.34

WEST 12.11.83

GOOD DAY FOR THE BLOODS

Well according to Rob Manning on Sports Tonight, the West Adelaide Blues beat South Adelaide today 12.18 = 90 to 3.8 = 26

And according to Neil Cross, South Adelaide are lining up again tomorrow against Port at Alberton...

Maybe the Panthers have opted to use their mulligan to get rid of today's match and give them another chance at the points?

:-s

Gees, I wish there was a dedicated thread highlighting mistakes that are made media by outlets, like Inside Football writing that Luke Callinan was Centrals best player against North last week.

Anyway, back onto the topic at hand, I was impressed with Westies young debutant Tait Silverlock. Heard that he started the season in the under 17's and kicked 9 goals in one game, went up to Under 19's and also bagged 9 in that grade, played a few ressies games and now his league debut. Well done lad...

Interesting to read on the SANFL web site the crowd was 1400. A little suprising from the vision on ABC, must have been a lot of people sitting in their cars, keeping dry and warm

Today was a bloody disgrace!!! Live on TV and to see a side play with no hunger or heart once again (only a handful can put there hand up for that!!) was embarrassing. A loss is a loss but to lose with no passion and fire in the team was just awful to watch.

I seriously can not see a South side challenge the finals for another 3 to 5 years. The plan to blood young players can "backfire" pretty quick with AFL scouts sniffing them out. Then South will be happy to get the $$$'s , go out and buy Ex-AFL players again....the cycle continues....

You really have to wonder getting beaten by Westies, who have 1 win on the board, us playing at home and on TV....where is the pride?????

Well done Westies, you showed everything South has not got at the moment....
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

It was very embarrassing to have had the South Adelaide game on the TV at work today after the appalling way that we played. The two wins that Westies have had this year have both been against South and we have beaten them once when Jack Cahill was at the helm.

I dont think that there is a great deal that the club can do or will do in the off season to turn this around. In my letterbox on Thursday was yet another "Next season we will-" club letter from the club which I am so totally sick of recieving for every year that I have been a member. With South it is always about working towards next year and how its all going to be better.

The blunt facts are that the only real form that we had in the club was when Jack Cahill was coaching us and there were consequences for insipid form. On two occassions Jack refused to hand out "best player" awards after the club as a whole played a bad game, I wonder how many were handed out today - 4-5 most likely. Will there be Sunday Morning training? I somehow doubt it....

Jack was lectured on "being too hard on the players". Yet clearly the proof is there for all to now see as to what happens when you give the players free reign to run the club as they see fit. Ryan Fitzgerald made many remarks about how Jack Cahills coaching was to old school and inapropriate and that Clay Sampson had better ideas and techniques to get the club into winning form. Today we see the AFL star getting more than just a touch up from an ex VFL coach with a list considered ordinary and the current recipient of soon to be four wooden spoons.

It will be interesting to see exactly what the club is going to do in the off season to correct all this. Most likely not very much and we will be back here in much the same position this time next year talking once again about the elusive "next year"......

One step forwards, two or three steps back...

Bloody awful today  Over 3 quarters without registering a goal is beyond unacceptable, especially at home, on TV, against a club with one win.

The young guys seem to have run out of legs a bit and too many senior players are out. Warren leaves a gapping whole. No excuses for a lack of effort or pride though

Well done Westies, especially Cupido, who always seems to play well down at Noarlunga.

I was impressed with the debut of Silverlock, though he didn't get much of the ball after half-time. The Rowe's were good, as was Caire, Morris, and a host of other kids.

The game of Cupido was perhaps the best I have seen...Ferguson was outstanding with some sensational contested marks down back, and McCormack got the Bloods going through the middle early. Piasente bobbed up in the third with three very telling goals and worked hard to tackle and apply pressure all day.

The Rowe injury looked rather obscure, so hopefully it is not as serious as it appeared...

For the good that West was, South were pretty ordinary. They seemed to lack any heart and had few leaders all day...I thought Torney and Otten were very good, and Boyd had a strong first term, but barely got near the pill in the final three quarters. Ellis worked hard in the second half and would have finished with 6-7 marks in a good lead-up capacity, and even spent some time down back...Redigolo and Rolfe, among many of the other youngsters, had good starts, but as soon as Westies got on top, there were few South players that stood up to change the flow of the game...

Great saying g'day to R&B and Westies_Sarge today...I must admit when both you boys said that West would win today, I didn't really actually think you were right. Goes to show your faith in your boys is very strong...congratulations Westies and enjoy the victory.

Great to catch up with you, TB.

Also good to catch up with one or two South posters after the game.
