Perhaps his shoulder is still sore from dishing out miscellaneous roundhouse punches behind play then.

Poses the question...if you took the Gowans out of the CDFC since 2000, would the Dogs have had the same level of success that they have had? I'd answer NO.

The "carry" pun was purely a joke.

He has the injury because he is a tough, unflinching hard bastard that would virtually die for His Club & doesn't complain about it, just gets on with the job, week in, week out. There should be a lot more in the SANFL of his calibre & I bet every club wishes they had one or two like him & his bro.

Yep, you're spot on!
Closest sort of player we had to the Gowans in recent times was Dean Howard and look how we've done after he's left.

Even when criticising him last year for the GF incident, I have always said I would like both Gowan's at the Bay. No coincidence that the last time we had any decent run of success (four GFs in a row) we had blokes like Salisbury, and the Stringers running around who had the same reputation as the Gowan's do
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I've always said the Gowans would be welcome in my side ANYTIME. They are the epitomy of what good, hard footballers should be...they are tireless and work hard, and bust their hump week-in, week-out.

I've also had the pleasure of witnessing first hand the generosity and respect the Gowans show people off-field...they are two of the nicest blokes you would encounter in footy...just not ON the field.

Two blokes that I reakon I'd love to have a beer with...

While we're talking about the epitome of guts & determination & committment to the jumper, what about Nathan Steinberner's effort? To go through what he has gone through in the last 4 years & still get himself fit & ready to keep playing league footy is bloody amazing...very Clay Sampson-ish! Good luck today Lager, let's hope for your sake things go to plan & it's a LAGER-FEST!!

I share the same sentiments CENTURION...

Just amazing courage and determination to persist after 4 shoulder reconstructions and a constantly interrupted comeback attempt with soft tissue injuries. Is a true club man and thoroughly deserves another opportunity in the league side, not on sentiment but form alone. Was back to his dashing old ways running of the half back falnk in the magoos last week.

GOOD LUCK LAGER...
