I dont normally agree with you Peter mate I will in regards to yesterday's match .It was not just the field umpires either in both grades yesterday the boundary umpires had problems calling the ball out along the members wing .
While on the oval why is the surface so bad at unley would have to be the worst surface at present .Not having a dig Sturt fans but the oval looked awful while the rest of the ground was fantastic .

We noted that too - it almost looks like the grass had a bug outbreak in it. Quite patchy and bare in places which is unusual for Unley

We also wish Ian Perrie a speedy recovery - hopefully will be OK - did look a sick boy as he left the ground.
Also terrific to see so many Eagles past players at the ground today.

I think the club should have more functions to get these blokes back a bit more often. Makes for a great day and gave it a real club feel.

Even the umpires will want to forget the game. How can no umpire be inside the 50m arc when Ryan Herring marked next to the point post late in the third quarter? And please explain why when an umpire makes an absolute clanger he drags a player back 25m because he naturally reacts to the shocking decision with a few words?

Agree with Micky - the lads coming through look to be a very exciting group but will we keep them??
Re the advantage rule i think the ump had called time off in our case and thus the game had stopped and couldnt call advatage whereas time wasnt called in the Sturt case - if wrong happy to be corrected.
