South will hopefully be a bit more competative than earlier in the year!
A good hard honest effort and we may not be embarrased.

Im tempted to have a nice Sunday drive up to the country to watch this game.

No Wedgeman, personally, I'm taking a few weeks off to do some H.E.M.P. work.

OK Cutter, I'll be the bunny and ask what is H.E.M.P. work? I have a fair idea, knowing you!

I'll be heading up...in fact the trip will include a stop over at Mannum on Saturday to see the Roos v the Double Blues.
About time for a dose of good ol' Country Footy!

  Well...funny you should ask Rucc.
Hrghmm...H.E.M.P., Rucc, is the Historical Education of Maritime Practices, to be precise it's a little known FREE course educating our fellow men/women about the skills pertaining to the building and restoration of traditional timber boats. It's a great day out  , there's the fresh Pt Adelaide air to breath, coastal views, physical fitness and one of favourites of the course, the accute awareness of all the muscle groups you didn't know you ever had. From your FREE invitational visit Rucc, I know you were more than impressed and it would be great to see you down there again soon to gain your HEMPCERT.2. Time's running out people only a few more months until this years course is over!!!! All expressions of interest can PM me. 8-[

Yes car were around the boundary at Strath so that could be it.
I remember it was quite windy if that helps, and we had Simon Dennis at full forward who cost the club a fair bit and was a dud.
In typing that, cause we had the funds maybe strath was played in 96.

Not sure now.

Spelly?

:)

Yes, smithy, it was 1996:
Round 19 1996
South 5.2 6.6 11.13 14.16 (100)
Sturt 2.5 4.11 6.13 8.18 (66)
Strathalbyn, 2188

Spelly, have you any thing on when South played Sturt at Murray Bridge, it could have been a Trial match or an Escort Cup match or similar, that was about 15 years ago. I know we played Sturt up at Murray Bridge and won, just cant remember the exact year
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

SP? No I don't think so Rucc, it's not A.H.E.M.P. APPROPRIATE HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF MARITIME PRACTICES. It is after all held down at the POIT, the home of most things inappropriate!
Maybe we should get back on topic....Sturt by 6 goals

I don't think this is the match you recall, but the only meeting I have is in the Escort Cup of 1986:

Round 3 1986
Sturt 0.0 6.5 6.7 7.14 (56)
South 4.9 4.9 5.14 6.17 (53)
Murray Bridge

My mail is lack of game time and the current changes have had an effect on many players? Plus the mighty $$$ and less commitment makes Victor attractive!

Such a shame. He should of conisdered changing clubs within the SANFL if not getting a go was a strong enough reason!

Im sure Saucy and that check book along with half the under19 sqaud from a few years back was a good incentive!
