It's about time Norwood went on to actually win matches we were supposed to win instead of coughing up upsets and going back to 7th yet again. The job obviously isn't done yet but it seems we are at last starting to progress, although the unhealthy reliance on AFL listed players remains.

In some respects, it's the AFL listed player situation that is causing problems. Each week we have players going back and forth from Norwood to the Crows and Power and we can't settle the team down in any way. I think it's a minor miracle that we are currently in the top 5 with 6 wins. I don't think we are relying all that much on AFL players because we don't know if we have them for one week to the next.

SA 7 points down at 3/4 time
Had the last use of a breeze which would be worth about 2-3 goals
SA got the 1st goal and are 1 point down early in the last qtr
They should have won this game and the SA barracakers would be disappointed.

WALKER + COCKY the talls up forward were the match winners.

WALKER reminds me of a young Peter Hudson in the 70s playing for Hawthorn
He is clever and reads the ball well
Has great hands
And kicks the ball a mile and is very accurate
He kicked goals at the right times to be the matchwinner

2 UNSAVOURY INCIDENTS AT NOARLUNGA

3/4 TIME HUDDLE
I went to watch my legs
There was a NW barracker in a yellow shirt who spoiled my day
He urged the legs on to beat a weak SA
He called on the players to win or lose a finals spot
This guy swore about 15 times in 5 minutes
His last comment was
" IF WE LOSE IM GOING TO BURN THE CLUB DOWN..."
Do we need this commotion and language at the SANFL
There were kids kicking footys nearby
Its times like today Im embarrased being a NW barracker

SA DEFENDER
A regrettable incident this one
Ball was out out on the full late in the last qtr.
Free to SA the defender was waiting for the ball to be relayed back to him by a spectator
The spectator[an SAFOOTY POSTER] checksided the ball on his non preffered left foot over the fence
The ball went closer to Luke Jericho on the mark than the SA defender
The defender called the NW spectator " A KNOB."
The spectator didnt say a word in response
But his mate let loose with a tirade of advice to the SA defender
He yelled out
" SHOW SOME RESPECT..DO YOU KNOW WHO YOURE TALKING TO...SHOW SOME RESPECT"...etc etc.

The nerve of that SA defender .....

first incident is not good but it happens with every club
2nd incident mal you've always been a shocking kick but 'the burger kings' boy (presuming it is his son) should be disciplined enough to say nothing anyway regardless of the situation
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

On the first incident, I have never understood why people feel the need to behave like this at the football. Sure, show some passion, and football is an emotional game, but there is absolutely NO EXCUSE to behave like that. Did this person honestly think he needed to tell the players they could lose a spot in the top 5 if they lost???? I detest moron behaviour, especially at the football, and I also detest so-called supporters rubbishing players they are suppposed to be supporting.

On the second incident, it's hard to say without knowing if the comment made by the SA player was an angry response or just a subdued comment through frustration. If it was an angrered response, the player needs to be able to ignore things like this. It exhibits the player's concentration level is low, and easy to upset. What's the difference between whether a supporter missed him with the pass, or if the ball hit the fence and bounced away towards Jericho? A player should never get sucked in by the crowd, especially with trivial incidents such as this.

Another winnable home game that got away.. :?

Played well in patches, but didn't get maximum value with the wind in the 2nd quarter. There is no way that Nwd should have led that game at half time. The game was there for the taking in the last quarter, but after getting within 2 points, South stopped for 10 minutes, Nwd kicked 3 kick goals and it was all over.

Jason Torney's injury riddled season continues unfortunately. You certainly notice when he's not out there.

The consistent pairing of Boyd and Handby were probably South's best again. Lade was useful.

After watching him yesterday (granted, for the first time this season), I'm glad S. Doyle took the $$$ on offer at Nwd rather than coming home to South. Very, very average.

13 scoring shots to South's 6, and you think Norwood shouldn't be leading at half time? Face it, Norwood are a better side than South at the moment, and it's time people started to realise that only Glenelg and Sturt have been in better form over the past 6-7 weeks.

If you listen to people on this forum, and their exaggerated opinions of how good their teams are, you'd be forgiven for thinking Norwood were bottom without a win.

I guess the Crows were right last year then. I wondered because I'd always seen him as a good if underated player like Edwards.

It was me that the player called a knob.
I actually took it in my stride as I did deliberately kick the ball towards Jericho who was on the mark.
He called me a knob out of frustration with probably no MALice intended.
It was my mates who voiced thier disapproval at him.

In hindsight it would allow NW players to man up on the SA players
However SA took the ball forward and scored a goal.

Agree with Adelaide Hawk that there is no room for fickle supporters
The ones that bag thier players and coaches incessively when the sides are underperforming.

Occasional intelligent criticism is fine
Constant vocal foul mouthed criticism is unacceptable

Norwood had a fair whack of shots on goal, but I would love to know the inside 50's?
I was at the game and thought we went inside our forward 50 as many times as Norwood,we just did not have the forwards to capitalise.Geez I wish we had a Taylor Walker or Adam Cockshell in our side.
At least south are playing the young guys and not persisting with some of the players who are cast offs from other clubs. We just need to work on our skills and intensity!!
Boyd ,Handby, lade and Parry were the best for the panthers. The more league games the youngsters like Rolfe,Redigolo Crabb and co can get under their belt the better we will be in the future.( hopefully the not too distant future)
