Finally the Eagles played the footy there supporters & club have been dying to see, whether they get the same this week is another thing.I believe Passador will play alongside Schwarze this week if Pass is ready that is, you'd be stupid not to ( Ronny )
Port might of won Sat but they wern't convincing in any way what so ever other than the 8 goals they kicked in the 3rd.
To be a threat of any kind in the major round, that 3rd qtr effort is whats needed for atleast a 80-90 mins of the game but unfortunately for them they find it hard to play 30 good mins of attacking footy although Jarmans flooding tactics on Sat made that tough in the first half!
IF Eagles play like they did Sat, they'll win & IF Port play the 3rd qtr brand of footy from Sat they can win.
I think Port who have lost alot of games by small margins just get my nod.
Port 25pts.

I think that both Passador and Schwarze should be in the goalsquare, gives two different targets - Pass leads while Schwarze marks in the goalsquare. Fitzgerald the crumber. Grocke I reckon should be somewhere in between CHF and Centre, that is, CHF a bit further up the ground. Gives a bit more space to the two full-forwards. Salter next to him on the half forward line.

Also with both no.6 and 11 up forward, which player would AhChee take if Port need him there? That's the one good thing about plenty of key forwards.

Klun may continue with the crumbing role like against the dogs or he may share that with fitzy Aerie.

If Hentschel is available I would play him as a tall in the back pocket to replace Broadbent. Not a believer in playing four tall forwards, I think selectors could be in for a tough time. Would like to see D. Redden replace Colville on HBF and push Petrenko to a wing.

You're a big fan of young Lee holden78, aren't you...

I kept a bit of an eye on him in the ressies for you guys on the weekend and while he is a big lad, I thought he didn't show spectacular signs to warrant a league berth. I though his kicking action is a bit suspect and he seemed to give alot of free kicks away in the ruck contests !!??

That is however, just IMO after watching him in 1 game. You obviously see more of him then what I do but I wouldn't have thought he'd be any better than young Robberts ????

Just my two cents worth Phil .
Lee has hung around the club for 2 years NOT GONE HOME like some recruits. And every week this year his game has IMPROVED .The extra bonus last week he was kicking goals !!! Yes the eagles seconds lost but they went down fighting unlike the week before against Sturts seconds.
Now the main reason I am a big gee for young Lee to get a recall (he played one game in his first year)is it will take away the one dimensional of our ruck division.
I have nothing but praise for Roberts and Dobber but they are both the same type of Ruckman .With lee you would also have a knock type ruckman .
But me being just a fan no one will change anything
If LEE does get a recall HE SHOULD SEIZE THE MOMENT so to speak and just go for it and show Ron etc why they recruited him in the first place!!

As was told to myself by another fan you have the choice of two players of equal ability .One in the league one in the two's .You drop one and bring the other guy up .What have you lost nothing !!!
So go for it Ron !!!
Jacobs surprised the faithful so why not Lee!!!

The cat's not fussed Spelly, she's just happy the 2 sides going into battle are birds, it'll be stalking them both...

Actually, she thinks the Eagles by a whisker, like the taste of dead magpies better

At this stage, I'd have thought Hentschel would be in the Reserves. Paul Stewart would be a great addition to the side, played some very good footy with us this year.

This has to be a poll thread, it's virtually a divided opinion as to who should be the preferred full forward.

If Hentschel is fit, you can't have him in the reserves. He is a cut above SANFL level and his versatility makes him a very handy player for us - just needs to be used properly. As for Lee, if he doesn't offer anything more than Roberts, why should he replace him? Roberts at least provides a back line option if we need it.

Schwarze will need to perform well again to keep his spot in the side ahead of Passador. Mainly his second efforts and leadership need to improve.
