We will have to disagree with a few things OWW.
Yesterdays game yes the players looked crap but why were moves not made sooner ?
A better and harder unit yes and more fitter. Why is this so as the eagles trained 5 days a week in the pre season .Why do the Eagles look flat unfit tired.

So what should we faithful do sit there and take the crap dished out on the field .One week we are Crap the next we play ok then Crap again.
Why should we sneak into the five we are THE WOODVILLE WEST TORRENS FOOTBALL CLUB. We should be goose stepping our way through the other teams and be in the grand final.Sorry to offend people but we expect to be up there every year since the merger.
Us and Centrals fans should expect to be there !!!!!!

Why did RON tell PLAYERS and ASSISTANT COACHES he was leaving at the end of 2006 if he won the flag or not.why do that?
Why are we losing assistant coaches young players with ron there why.

I am one of the faithful and I do not wish to be the faithful in the number 9 spot !!!Not again that was a life time ago never again for this little black duck .

Someone please grab the club by the scruff of the neck and shake the life back into it

Well sacking a proven premiership coach mid year ain't the answer.

As many have rightly said , recruitment has fallen over this year and Ron would take responsibility on that .

Unsettled side all year has had an impact on the performance and the players aren't playing like we know they can.

Ron Fuller will take full responsibility for this as all senior coaches do.

I for one will stick with Ron based on his proven past record

no worries then if he is sacked at the end of 2008 or retires I should say
You seem to be close to ron why did he tell everyone he was finishing at teh of 2006 and stay on instead ?

Are you suffering some sort of memory loss oncewerewarriors or have you just genuinely forgotten this is the same man that has also coached us to 3 grand final losses 1 of which is still an SANFL record for biggest winning margin. All of this is attributed to his reign as league coach. You can't expect all sins to be forgiven with 1 premiership. He has now burnt his bridges too badly they can't be repaired under his reign. It's time for a change. He makes too many mistakes eg: continuing to match up Hier with Chambo when clearly it wasn't working. Where are his plan b's or c's he hasn't got any.

what 3 grand final losses and 1 win, when I went to school that equalled 4, which is 4 grand finals, any coach that can take his side to that amount of G/F's has something special, yeah sure you are having a bad year, it does happen people, And what you got belted by Sturt, Geez only 3 weeks ago if that I sat through us getting belted by nearly 20 goals by that mob, you guys didnt get close to that. I am sure Ron knows where his future lays, glad the pressure is off our mob this week on here, hey perhaps a swap, Ron for Jars and Jars for Ron, reckon that may just work

People change their minds. He had just won a premiership with a group of players that had been beaten to a pulp by a classy Central Outfit in 2004 and 2005 , but had the guts and unity to get off the canvas and have another crack
Club asked him to re-sign, why wouldn't he ?
If you had a choice in October of 2006 after winning a premiership of re-signing Fuller if available or a new coach what would you do?
Very easy decision for any club to make.
2007 was a solid year , but obviously disappointing compared with 2006.
2008 , poor recruiting , retirement of key senior players, injuries to senior players . All adds up.
Fuller won't except these as excuses for the clubs performance.
However to ask for his sacking for a below standard half a season so far in 2008 would in my opinion be one of the worst things the club could do.
No I don't personally know Ron, just respect what he has done for Our football club

Well where do I start?

Glenelg No premiership since 87
North 91
West 83
South 64
Norwood 97

I can't believe we have retained Fuller's services this long , What has/was the club thinking?

I suppose in your life , you are a naturally born world beater that comes through on everything and therefore have the right to bitch about the lack of achievement of our club under Fuller's guidance.

You were probably still complaining about the 2004 GF on the night I was celebrating the 2006 Premiership

Ron Fuller should not be sacked at the moment. No way. There is still plenty of time to go this season and we should still be aiming for 5th spot. However, there does need to be an in depth review at the end of the season with regards to the coach and starting now, there needs to be an in depth review of the player list by the football department and plans put in place for the Eagles to work back towards the top of the table.

Fuller will go down as the most successful coach we have had in 150+ combined years. We should be thankful he has been largely responsible for an Eagles team that has put in 100% and won the majority of games in the time he has been at the helm. However, every coach bites the dust eventually and IMO his time as coach of WWTFC should cease at the end of this season. The club looks as though it needs to be revitalised. There has been too many poor performances in the past one and a half seasons.

As a long time member of the former West Torrens F C and a foundation member of the merged eagles since 1991 I feel that Ron has given his best over the past 81/2 years but has clearly lost the support of the players, this happens to all coaches eventually.
I could see the signs last year but the players dug in and got themselves out of a hole. The football director is responsible for the lack of recruiting to cover the loss of midfielders like Skipworth , Vince, Cooper, Lomas,Inkster& reduced output from Cicca & Gavin through injury. Powell & Treeby have been left to carry the load & it shows .

Dont go down that path my friend, South have caved into the playing group and sacked several coaches for that very reason and it has been one of the main reasons that the club has not been competitive.

Make the hard call and sack the players that are whiteanting the coach if that is the case. Give Ron Fuller a new group of players to work with that will give him 100%. If it is the case that the players are whiteanting the coach and succede, you may well spend more years than you would like outside of the five as South have.

Re: IT'S TIME TO GO !!!

Postby locky801 » Sun Jun 22, 2008 6:28 pm

so now we look at it

Trevor Hill (NOrwood) should be sacked according to some on here

Andrew Jarman (North) should be sacked according to some on here

Ron Fuller (Eagles) should be sacked according to some on here

Tim Ginivier (Port) should be sacked according to some on here

John Cahill (South) resigned

Surprised the knives havent come out for Andy Collins at West, and let alone poor Roy LAIRD at the Doggies who lost a game at the Ponderosa yesterday

I would say out of the lot, Fuller and Jarman will move on next year, if they dont they will have mini league sides playing for them, Tim at Port has not done a bad job, hells bells this year they have lost games more through bad kicking than bad footy and they should win well next week which will then put them in the mix, so thats my assessment, I think all Eagle supporters should sit back and just think what Ron Fuller has done for your club, probably a lot more than the coach of my club actually
