Bays should win this easily by more than 5 goals. Have got to be flag favourites. 8-[
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

I see similarities between this week's game and 2006.

Difference is: Sturt are the real deal in 2008 and so are the Bays!

Peter stop living in the past [-X . who cares what happened in 2006. There is no similarities between the games at all, neither team played finals that year. We do know that Sturt fans are crapping themselves at the prospect of losing again to a side that they reckon is inferior to their mighty, baby, resergent, pretty blue boys  . Results would suggest otherwise.

I'm not living in the past.

Sturt went to Brighton Rd., undermanned in 2006. Listen to 5RPH then post a reply please. Thanks!

On the contrary LBT, most fair minded Sturt followers are realistic enough to know that with the forced changes to this weeks side it will be tough to win BUT we are also mindful that nothing is decided in June (we can be because unlike Glenelg we have participated in 9 finals series in the last 11 years).

I am not 'crapping' myself at all. I'm excited at the prospect of the boys and coaching staff having a crack at Glenelg who are the form side of the SANFL. What happens on Saturday will have little bearing on what happens in September as the Sturt side will be a lot diffferent come the major round.

If anything it should be the GFC supporters who should be a little apprehensive about the outcome of this one. For mine, Glenelg have more to lose. As I said in the preview thread, if an undermanned Sturt can go to Brighton Rd and push the Tigers, if not pinch a win, then that will be a telling psychological blow.

As opposed to last year, we have copped a few injuries now rather than at the business end and again I am far more comfortable with that scenario.

I look forward to Saturday. I am certain that there will be 21 very committed 'pretty blue boys' raring to have a go at the 4 time premiership Glenelg Football Club....

As for a Glenelg supporter daring to badge our footy club as 'resurgent'

Pffftt!

I wouldn't worry about it too much MST. I read LBT's post as an attack on Sturt supporters provoked entirely by what Sturt Peter wrote just before him.
I think in popular language we call it a "bite". Just that with this guy it doesn't take too much!

Not worried at all Theri. I think it's funny that he thinks we are all 'crapping ourselves'.

Whether 10-2 or 9-3 after Saturday's game, we will have a major say come September and when we do face Glenelg in the finals I can guarantee LBT and his mates that the side will be in much better shape physically and mentally as compared to 2007.

I am actually very worried about this game. As stated before by someome, Sturt will be coming into this game with alot of reserve players hoping to cement themselves into league side and a win will seal the cake but Glenelg have almost a full strength side so a loss on Saturday could be very mentally unsettling. If the Glenelg players come into this game thinking they have the points I feel as if Sturt will pip us, I hope we come switched on and ready to battle out.

at least glenelg wont be relying on fringe AFL players to top them up for the finals

How is Sellar going this year?

I heard John Reid on 5aa a few weeks ago saying they were really pleased with him and he is doing all they ask....and he got a game with the crows. But this I think was after the game Glenelg V Eagles, when he only had a handful of touches.
I have kept an eye on his stats and he doesnt seem to get a lot ?? is he really AFL material..or is he a young kid coming to grips with league footy?

Any Glenelg fans care to comment?
