For anyone wanting to know why jack quit south, have a look at who there next few games were against.
They need to get rid of the bullshit at port with politics and old senial has-beens running the club. Bringing jack back would only make things worse. When he left to take on the coaching job at the power he left the magpies hanging. knightsy was never given a fair go at port and when the "legends" were jobless after leaving the power, they came back and undermined knightsy to have another run with the league side. they claimed to have lost money yet they bought micklejon jeremey clayton and many other players from the afl.
last year the reserves didnt have any money left to pay there younger players, causing tyson wait, puckerige and many more others to leave. Then after losing those players they go and buy players that cant make eagles league side and put them in to there A grade side.
I dont blame Tim i blame the people running the club for what has happened to the side at this present time. Tim should have coached the reserves or ameature league before going straight to being a league coach. They should have never lost hodges and he should be up with the league side if not coaching the reserves. mark tylor is great and hopefully he will be the next coach of the league side. get delaney from districts and put tim down to the 19s so he can work with the younger blokes as he is good for encouragment. Everyone else in the seniors should leave.
For all the jokers making excuses for port go and have a look at other clubs injury lists and you cant complain, for example have a look at the eagles list last year when they beat port at alberton. If you want to use kicking as an excuse then ask why did they let the best goal kicker to have played sanfl go?
dont blame tim blame the people above him behind the scenes that are running the club.

Im talking about recent footballers as in scott hodges who would have been very helpful with the forwards at port.

Get over the bring back Jack thing Port people, it aint gonna happen , his best days were over as a coach long ago, his coaching days are finito, deal with it and move on !
The way Port are kicking for goal might be a case in point to get Hodges as a goalkicking coach, but this team misses easy shots week in week out, maybe they aren't up to league standard, as Wally May used to say, can't kick can't play.

Knocked back a lot of coin to take the Salisbury West job. Maybe he has plans to coach the Maggies.

He never looked very adaptable as a player. He was made by being in front of a dominant team, I thought.
How did he go as a coach in the Amateurs?

You've always been a knocker of his Psyber, what do you mean not adaptable, a dominant team made him as a player? yes & no.
As dominant as Centrals have been in the last 10 years, who at Centrals have been dominant at the goalfront & kicked 100 goals?

I'm also a knocker of Modra who had similar limitations.
Both could lead and take a mark when it was being delivered well, but were not as good in tight situations. A bit like Scott Welsh.

I much preferred Mark Tylor at Port in that period, and of the two would have liked to see Tylor transfer to Norwood.
As much as he caused me pain as a Norwood supporter in my childhood - Rex Johns - there was a guy who could get the hard ball.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

Martin Leslie to coach
Scott Hodges should be asked to be the forwards coach
People forget how good Scotty was
On TV today there was highlights of his 11 goals for AC V GE
Both these guys were hard nuts on the field and would bring some oomph back to PA

Timmy was a tenacious hard at it footballer but if he does not pull a rabbitt out the hat he may lose his job this year.

Source was from an ex champion Port player who also played in the VFL.
