Bets on Luke McCabe ending up on Almost Footy Legends next week?

Yeah, it was definatley McCabe... But what actually happened there Falcon ??? :-k

From what I thought I saw, was a case of McCabe thinking he was running into an open goal square but not realising his bearings, only to kick it through from the line FOR A BEHIND in between the point and goal post...

Gees, imagaine if the game went down to line and we lost by a couple of points, how bad would Lukey feel !!?? ](*,) #-o

Doesn't matter, I'm sure the boys will give him plenty of stick for it in the coming days... \:D/

i thought central controlled the game after halftime but didn't put it on the scoreboard & finally did in the last term, passador basically a lone hand up forward for the eagles, very slippery conditions which made handling the ball difficult, but i think both teams can take more positives than negatives out of the game

thanks for the even money sportsbet

When the game was there to be won it was Central who were able to get that bit more out of themselves and get across the line. Lawry was outstanding at CHF for the Dogs and was probably best on ground. Slade was a factor as well. It was tight and hard fought as expected. Not a lot of free running play from Full Back to Full Forward. I thought the Eagles did well to prevent Central doing their usual switch and run down the wing.

The Eagles were in the game right up until the 20 minute mark of the final quarter and had Grocke kicked that goal, who knows. However, I thought Central wasted more opportunity in front of goal than we did and could have been leading by more in the 3rd quarter.

I liked Broadbent's game for the Eagles tonight. He had the cleanest hands out there and will be a better player at a higher level than any others that were on the field. Passador was excellent up at Full Forward. Dabrowski good in ruck and McGregor was great down in the back lines and as a 2nd ruck. Powell and McKenzie played their usual solid games.

Eagles were just not quite good enough in the end and with Central still to get a few important players back in their side, look really good again for another GF appearance. No one is unbeatable though and with the improvement of the other sides, it will be a scrap for a top 3 finish.

I think you'll find the 2nd missed shot on goal was Symmons not Jacky. Totally agree though spelly this was the turning point of the game. If grocke kicks that goal it's a totally differednt ball game - The Eagles have the momentum and most likely go on and win the game.

There may have been a few bad decisions either way and they probably had more free kicks than us - but they cannot be blamed for the result of the game. The last thing I want is this thrread to be turned into an Eagles whingefest about umpiring. They were not to be blame.

I thought Passa was brilliant again tonight. 5 goals was an excellent effort. Has proved again tonight why he deserves to be in the state squad. Kept getting scragged, held and pushed in the back on many occasion and yet the 3 blind mice didn't seem to notice until 1 free late in the game. :? :? :? Maybe we should start a thread similar to SP with chambo.

Yeah thought Central controlled the game for three quarters but bad forward entries and missing easy set shots kept the Eagles in the game. Couldn't believe Havelberg was named in the best for us, i thought he had a shocker especially until late in the game he bobbed up with a couple.

Cochrane and Faulkner i thought applied great pressure throughout the game, and Hayes proved why he is in the state squad and i think he just done enough now to be named in the team to vs the vics.

Overall im fairly happy with that performance and think we are building momentum nice and slowly with players such as Callinan, Chris Gowans and Slattery to come back i think a top 3 spot should be expected, and anything can happen from there.

I won't lie - the lights are good as Norwood's but because of the large playing space, it's not as bright overall. ;)

Very entertaining game throughout. Central just capitalised when it counted toward the end of the match. Some great battles on the night; Dabrowski did his chance of a state jumper no harm in a great tussle with Mackenzie. Passador was nearly the difference, breaking free a number of times. Hayes was outstanding all night and also deserves his chance on May 31, hopefully with Dutschke who also showed plenty of poise all night.

A number of positives for Woodville/West Torrens also - Paul Stewart won plenty of it in midfield, Jarrad used every possession wisely and James McEntee had some solid moments in the 2nd half also, while Mark McKenzie's sweeping role was effective all night.

Luke McCabe is probably still pondering what he was thinking with one of the more spectacular points of his career ;-)...was watching that with Falcon Chick and kept us chuckling for a while!

Did note the crowd figure with interest - actually looked more from where we sat. While the outer wing was a bit quiet, there was plenty of colour and noise on the grandstand side.

Nothing better than standing in front of the grandstand at elizabeth. So much banter and funny comments. Win or lose you leave the ground with a smile on your face.
I also thought the outer wing was quiet. I didnt notice the big group of eagles supporters on the wing until a dogs player kicked the ball out of bounds and they all cried for deliberate.

Enjoyed the game, a typical Eagles v Central war of attrition. Agree that Grocke's miss (not that hard) was pivotal but that also Dogs probably had more of the play during the night.
Encouraged by our effort given the amount of inexperience in the side.
Put in Colville, Hentschell, J Stewart, Petrenko, Hicks, and the side will be looking like a finals contender.
Rumour is that Biagi won't be around much longer.........no great loss!! and will save us some money. Very homesick!
