Today showed clearly the following:

Bays - a top 3 team and a big chance based on current form etc to go all the way.

North - will be lucky to finish 5th. Would love to post more but.....................................................I won't!

Glenelg FC - the upgrade of your club is very impressive and the hospitality is first class made easier by the fact your supporters are humble winners. You seriously need some decent outside Southern end toilets though - hopefully one day they will arrive.

Enjoyed the game - didn't think we would win and at the end of the day thought the scoreboard made North look better than they played.

Good to catch up with a heap of past on and off field "stars" of both clubs after the match in the bar.

The slab has been poured and the foundation plumbing has been done - so they are coming
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He went up to the secutity officer and told him to head around behind the goals because I assume there was a bit happening in the crowd in that area.

Yes, in true Weslo style he wasn't moving quick. At three quarter time, they (ABC) were showing a couple of police officers going over to a North fan.

Contrary to Wedgie's impression I didn't think North were crap. They certainly had a few bad periods - e.g. the whole third quarter - but there were a couple of periods when they controlled the game too - e.g. last half of the second.

To my mind the big difference is that when North had the scoring end, Glenelg was able to put a brake on the scoring for short periods. e.g. early in the last Glenelg managed to bottle up the ball in their own half of the ground for a good 5 or more minutes. Didn't goal themselves, but then the Roosters weren't scoring either. Conversely when Glenelg was kicking with the breeze, North didn't put up much of a yelp.

The Bays still need a bit of work on their finishing, especially up forwards. The Bays first three shots on goal yielded 1.1 IIRC, and a couple of "gimme" shots down the Snouts end went begging. I don't think that Glenelg was a ten goal better side, but I do think that 4 goals flattered the Roosters maybe a little.

All the same, a fairly good game of footy, and I for one am stoked with the win.

It may have been sort of entertaining but North were NEVER seriously in the contest.
North actually played good footy for about 35-40 mins but the other 60 odd was soft, unaccountable crap.
Bays were too good, had better structure and are a more genuine side than North.

i was over on that side of the ground & a north supporter & 'his group' (you know the big bald headed abusive bloke) was THROWING more than abuse at the umpires (goal) & the field umpire as you know stopped the game for the security of the umpire(s) & at 3/4 time (which was 5-10 minutes later) they were all escorted from the ground

this bloke we know has been in trouble before & perhaps instead of kicking him out of the grounds evey so often give him a warning that if any incident happens again he will be barred firstly for a year & if he does anything wrong after that he gets banned for life (this should apply to any fan from any club)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Dad said that was the same guy who was calling Schwarze fat in the first round. Schwarze turned around and indicated to him about where his waist line is. Boy did he go off then!

Watching a bit of this game at work, and I noticed a rather heated conversation between the goal umpire and Weslo, then a North supporter being escorted from the ground.

I think it's another entry into Wereslow's Hall of Shame.
