I think you're right there bayman, on that performance tonight Port won't make the finals, i'm reasonably certain of that, and Norwood probably wont either.

Sadly I agree - a battle for 6th and 7th will ensue between Port and Norwood.

Boo to everything.

i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Agree we will not make finals unless there is some major changes in our performance in the next two weeks. Some major changes to the team need to be made and some young guys may need to come up to league level from the ressies

He must have kicked the 7 against us then.

Wel done to Macca for the ressies & league write up. The 3/4 time dust up would have been worth a look.

BAys were in a position worse than Port and Norwood this time last year.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah the all in brawl got pretty willing there. Started off the usual push and shove, then some other players came charging in and it was on. Ended up breaking up into 3 equally willing brawls and it went for half the 3/4 time break. Saw plenty of punches thrown.

As for us making the finals, I still hold out hope that weve still got plenty of talent on the sidelines and some youngsters in the reserves who can move up and could perform.

Laugh if you want but the fact that Port were down to 18 men, came at us and the old demons were looking at us again, the boys could have given up and lost, but REFUSED! We will play finals now, the sleeping giant have been awakened. Been a long time since I have seen that kind of resolve and determination in my boys, doesn't matter how pretty or how ugly you win, as long as you win.

Correct, and Borlace's effort was against South at Noarlunga.

I have Norwood scorers from 2001, and in that time Scott Borlace kicked 6 in Round 12 2001; Scott Carslake kicked 7 in Round 8 2002.

There have been a number of "small forwards" kicking 6 goals since Rick Neagle. I can't be bothered looking them all up, but we had a player named David Payne who kicked 5 or 6 goals on a number of occasions. I recall Simon Neave booting 6 in one game, and then James Thiessen kicked many goals in a small forward role before migrating to the wing. I recall Thiessen kicking 8 goals in one game against Port Adelaide and another where he booted 6.

Neave kicked 6 and Payne 5 against Sturt when Norwood scored 32.10 against them in 1987.

Filthy mongrel. I hate it when players reverse headbutt their opponents knee.

Did Scott Carslake ever get another kick in the SANFL after that game. It was against Central and he won the game off his own boot and then vanished of the face of the earth.

Well let's see now. After Carslake booted that bag of 7, he played another 4 seasons after that, adding a further 82 games and 50 goals, mainly off the wing. He was pretty much a regular player for Norwood. Not really sure that's "vanishing off the face of the earth" :)
