Thankyou Smac...
I don't know why people were including first year SANFL players who are from another state, in their teams.
Now, I know the requirements for selection state the player has to have played in the SANFL for at least 12 months but the question I would like clarification on is:
If a player who was delisted from either Port or Crows AFL list in 2007 and is committed 100% to playing SANFL this year, does that make them eligable for team selection ?
If so, the likes of Bode, Hinge, Archard, Torney and Perrie, who played some SANFL games in '07 would have to come under consideration for a spot in the squad at he very least ?
I had the same problem when selecting a ruckman for the team. I honestly thought that Parry (despite his suspension issues) is probably the better ruckman in the comp at the moment THAT IS eligable for selection. I agree with a few others that Feasty is a tad too old, although quite talented, Earl Shaw is only playing his first year so can't be picked, James Mickeljohn (Port) hasn't played this year due to injury despite having a good year last year, and I haven't really seen enough of Glenelg's Cranston to make a judgement.
I went with Dabrowski as the back up just because I think at the moment, he is probably the better option and has just a little bit more experience than the others, including being an AFL rookie with the Crows. This choice may change before an initial squad has to be chosen, I guess only time, injuries and player form over the next few weeks will tell. Also, as mentioned, Harty loves the Gowans twins so if one is going to be in the team, the other would be guarenteed a spot, surely, despite James not playing the first 3 games due to suspension ??!!
