drebin wrote:Today's game showed clearly identified one of the GF teams and no need to guess who I am talking about. Sturt were a good class above North and some "people" at the NAFC need to have a good hard look at themselves.

I hope after Sturt left the visitors rooms that some of our (NAFC) "officials" checked to see if they left copies of their game plan because the North version is officially redundant. 5 years with the same 1 dimensional style has definately passed it's use by date.

An idea for North training / recovery tommorow would be to watch the tape of the game in two parts. 1st part what North did right - that should use up 6 minutes of the overall time (us running out and the warm up). The second part should be watching what Sturt did well - that will use up the remaining 114 minutes.

A long year looming large at Prospect.

I don't know that you are being entirely fair, North didn't look as fit or switched on as Sturt. We looked fitter & playing well as a team, and I am under no illusion that we will remain that far advanced for long.
North just looked a few weeks less prepared, it is still very early in the season, an they are certain to improve as will the Dogs.

I'm just pleased Sturt are gaining some wins & percentage at the moment, it could be handy later in the season for us. We need to bank that while we have the jump on a few of the other teams.

Very humble of you les, yes it is early and I think North are building their game plan around Central's game plan where only the business end counts but North only snuck into a top 3 spot last year and you need the wins on the board to get there.
Central's can afford to coast but North can't.
I get the feeling Central could still win a premiership from 9th on the table where North would still struggle from first.

Sturt were very good in particular the first half. After that I thought we good but I reckon the horse had bolted. I dont agree with Lockys point re 25 m penalties, there is no way McGowan would stand for that. Sturts tackling & pressure is very very good , North panicked at times when under no pressure which is a sign you've got them mentally. North will get better no doubt but gee we have a lot of depth so if it turns pear shaped like last year we are equipped to cover any injuries.

I could really stick it up some but it is only round 3. I know the players have the same thoughts.

I see why some are critical of Norths game plan and coaching at times. Crane was resting in a forward pocket and was standing a guy who was nearly twice as tall ( not hard though) and twice as slow ( also not hard ) and he made him look like a witches hat at times ( also not hard for him) . But for Jarman to leave him on him that long was just dumb.

Well played Sturt , keep it up.

Better you say what you have OCT (and well put too!) because "some" of us get slagged and vilified if we dare criticise our own club and it's performances.
I'm part of "some" and I highlighted some keys words.

P.S. PLEASE NOTE THAT A STURT SUPPORTER MADE THOSE COMMENTS AND WE (NAFC Fans)DARE NOT AGREE EVEN IF IT IS FACT!!!

Well Wedgie you and other passionate North supporters must be extremely frustrated. So to those that read the site and are closely involved at the NAFC , there were things I saw to day that were dunb. I am an oposition supporter and focus on my team more than others but I must say I see why some of your supporters are disillusioned.

Maybe it is time you listened to some of your real people , they may even add some value and improve things. It sounds silly considering you made the GF last year but I think the point is you probably should be better.

One big brickbat to Sturt today is WTF is going on with that Guernsey????

I know I am anti-clash guernseys *nods to the Eagle fans*, so take my views with a pinch of salt, but that guernsey and the socks are an abomination!!!

I can understand them wearing it aginst Centrals and the Eagles given both those clubs wear blue but seriously against any other club that guernsey should stay in mothballs.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I will watch that closely Locky next game , you could be right but Mcgowan is so hot on discipline it would surprise me. Great pick up if it is right.

The guernsey is growing on me but I think too much white and the socks were different but again too much white. Very modern and slick looking though , matching the way we are playing at the moment. We wore a heritage guernsey last year against Port which I would have like us to use as our away guernsey but at least we have had a go at something different I suppose. We dont need a clash guernsey anyway !!

Mate, we're used to it.

Mind you I have no idea why I support a club that frustrates me and serves me crap beer that runs out at half time for $5 a pop when I could quite easily support Norwood and support a club that frustrates me and serves me good beer. :?

Has there been a change in catering at Prospect.
I always remember them being very cheap and having ample supply.

Yes

North have been the cheapest beer of the last 10 years, alas a $1 increase and a change of caterers and it all falls in a hole.
Pointed out my opinion to the CEO after the game.
Hopefully some good comes of it, doubt it though.

Allen is a big out for North, should Thomson play, as you would assume, it'll be hard for North to control the stoppages and with a bit of rain good onballers could be the key. Sturt by 30.

We are not a one man midfield (like at times last year)

Archard, O'Brien, Ladhams and Younie are not a bad on ball quartet plus you can throw Shannon Motlop, Krieg and Wintle (if he plays?) into the middle as well.

My "mail" is Ivens and Wintle will not play and D. White will come in.

Given we are still unsettled and it is only our second game, I think Sturt may get up but we are more than capable of winning so it wouldn't be an upset in the strict sense of the word.

Above was a reply to a post in the pre-match thread. I was wrong. No Allan, No North midfield although Ladhams can hold his head high. The rest well...............

Drebin we were very, very lucky to have Thommo play for us today, and after his effort last week and also taking into account the Powers effort tonight I'll just say, MARK WILLIAMS, YOU WERE WRONG! Best on ground by a mile. Our centre clearances were blistering, Deluca is coming on well as a tap ruckman, needs to work around the ground with a solid mark though and a great effort in pissing off Allaway
Thought north can be a very damaging team with their pace, they made us look slow at times, but their tackling is deplorable.
Think we have a very balanced side, also good effort by Evans in the centre today he looked better there than up forward.
Well done Blues, top win.
