A couple of events that stood out were: Rick Davies punching the point post after he beat the fullback in a race to the ball and soccered it into the post. And from a kick in, Craig Balme's pin point pass to Rick Davies who was standing on the mark, the umpire called play on, and Davies side stepped an angry Balme and put it through the big sticks, a rare highlight from that game.

Definitely wasn't a final .. I reckon it was actually Round 1 of 1985 that happened .. Think we won pretty easily too.

We only played the Bays and Westies and out in straight sets that year.

Norwood v Sturt also played in the 82' Quali with the Legs winning a tight one by a goal or two.

I'm not saying rivalries can only be forged in finals, but i really cant recal that many finals between the 2 clubs in the last 25 or so years.

I think most have been named, but from 1978:
1980 Preliminary
1982 Qualifying
1983 Qualifying
1983 Preliminary
1999 Elimination
2000 Elimination
2002 Qualifying
2002 Preliminary

For me rivalries need to be years and years in the making ( laugh at the supposed A-League rivalries such as Adel Utd v Melbourne Victory that were being talked about after 5 minutes)

Port v Nowood
Port v Sturt
are it in my opinion

Lets face it....Port v everyone else. In the 50's it was Westies, 60's Sturt, early 70's North then Norwood, Glenelg and on and on. And to this day almost everyone still likes beating Port the most. Especially those with long memories. :D

Port v (nearly)Everyone would be top eight so here goes re: non-Port feuds.
Glenelg v North.
Norwood v Sturt.
Central v Woodville-Torrens.

I would add North v Woodville West Torrens to that list that rivalry is really starting to build now.

I honestly dont see any rivalry between North and the Eagles. We don't have any rivals as such, used to be the Bays until they (and we) were shit for so long.

I agree with one of the previous posters.

Port v Norwood
Port v Sturt

I challenge supporters of clubs that don't follow those teams to go to some of those games not not walk away feeling something special that doesn't normally occur just happened.
