The SANFL must be better than the VFL. After all, the best VFL players are over here

I've told them that we're better on their website.

yeah about 3 times your throwing it down their throats, imho it is way too much especially considering it is their comp that that site is for

No easy answer there boys

Allan came over and won our magarey, Callinan is a star, Alleway is in our best 2 CHF's and so on.

A VFL team full of the next 17 on a list plus rookies as well which Williamstown had on occasions in "2006" , when Collingwood for weeks had no injuries would be very near unbeatable.

A match between premiers Centrals and Geelong would be a very close affair as was the case with the two leagues cellar dwellers had in Tassie last pre-season (Tassie V Westies).

No easy answer to the strongest league.

"Thought For The Day"
How many ex VFL players are here in Adelaide, How many ex SANFL only players are playing in the VFL, Money is the key ingredient, more so than the strongest league.

So what about Couch. Played 5 VFL games last year, or were Geelong that good that they were the exception? I wonder if players come over here to resurrect their careers because it's easier to get noticed without the focus on the AFL players in the VFL.

I think the SANFL Is the stronger league, with the SANFL overall being the more proffesional comp.We also have more depth, and why would so many of their better players come to play in the SANFL? :D

No doubt a good player in the VFL would be a good player. However the standard and depth in the SANFL is better than the VFL. The SANFL has a far stronger supporter base. The VFL does not have the history or tradition that the SANFL has.
The SANFL is made up of 9 clubs. Where the VFL is basically a hybrid comp made up of the leftover VFA clubs and AFL reserves.

Couch will be lucky if he makes the eagles side this year and may only make it if we get struck down by injuries. I don't think he was recruited as a 'star'. It is only his links to his dad that has generated interested in him over here

IMO the main reason the better players come to the SANFL is the crowd and independence from the AFL it has.

Rather then being and aligned 'reserves' team, they get to play in the top competition in their own rights.
