IMO, Glenelg to finish 3rd or 4th...any worse :? going backward, any better then makes for a great 2009.... 8)

So far if everybody's right there'll be a lot of clubs in the top 5!

Honestly I think Norwood could finish anywhere from 3rd-8th. A lot depends on whether all the new recruits can gel as a team (an issue which makes predicting West's performance also particularly difficult) and also a few of them have had injury concerns in the past, so whether they can stay on the park. If I had to pick a spot I'd say 5th.

But this season will depend a lot on which teams can get on a bit of a roll, and pick up some confidence with a few wins. Aside from Centrals (top 3 at least) and South (last) I think the other teams could be anywhere this year. Of course I hope I'm completely wrong, and a long awaited Redlegs premiership is on the way!

Eagles to finish 4th just another solid year for the club.

Hopefully top 3, honestly top 5. I think we've got the best chance for a long time for a GF.

Good post Locky, I was going to say 4th-8th for the Legs ... Haven't shown too much inspiration in recent seasons, but the influx of recruits with some important bodies hopefully healthier than last year make us a difficult mob to predict in these early days.

Game plan will also, again, come under scrutiny ... Along with Westies, a team thats hard to even make prediction on at this stage.

We've been in alot of grand finals of late & i'd expect alot higher than 4th from the eagles.
If any of our supporters were happy in settling for 4th, i'd be pi##ed off.
Some supporters are content with getting to a grand final & couldn't give a sh!t coming 2nd.
Its one thing that must change, accepting bridesmaid honours.

I firstly have to say that this year im looking forward to round 1 with just a tad more excitement and expectation than what I this time last year.

After looking @ the draw our first 6 rounds will be tough - Norwood @ Norwood round 1 will be a real test and then we have Centrals / North / South / Glenelg and then the Eagles !!!

Our last 4 rounds this year will be a bit easier than last as we only play one of the top 5 from the 2007 season and that is Centrals in the last round !!!

We also have to play Centrals ( the best side in the competition ) and the Eagles ( we have been there bitches for ever since they merged ) 3 times !!!

Best case we will finish 2nd and worst case we will finish 5th again !!!
It is what it is !!!

Not overly optimistic about the Eagles chances this year. I'd have to say 4-5th, but with depth being a bit of a problem last year, a bad run with injuries and some retirements, could see us fall similar to Sturt on 2006, esp with West, Port and Norwood battling for fifth spot.

Like the other realistic Panther supporters this year will be tough to endure. However, it can be viewed with some optimism for the future as this year represents a substantial change both on and off the field to correct the failings of the past too many years. Wooden spoon i fear.

I'd expect Centrals to finish top.

Their losses appear to be covered well, as well as the return of Steinberner and Cowan from injury should see another good year.

Always an optimist I feel that South have the cattle to finish in the top five. We did so two years ago and have retained a number of those players along with some first class recruits. There has been much pain at the club as changes have been implemented, yet I feel that it is all part of the bigger picture.

If it does happen however that South lose every game this year, Jack Cahill will still have my support for 2009! I like the plan that he has and feel that he will set the club up well for the next several years if the club give him the support that he needs to do the job.
