I've seen them all play, and watched a fair bit of SANFL footy. Leonidis = no idea.....talking Keast up the most is the biggest downfall, he would be behind the rest. Grove probably the pick who trained with Sydney earlier this year before the draft. Schreiber very impressive for a kid, great hands. Dorward needs weight for over there but has potential as does Keast, but to suggest domination of the comp and 10 year players if not drafted is plain old silly mate!!
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Well said WCP and I think youv'e hit the nail on the head.
I would have thought all 4 mentioned will be U19's for most of the year with a chance at playing some Reserves this season. If they do well in that, they may get a crack say next year at SANFL league level and I am talking all 4 of them
Any talk of dominating the competition, being stars, long term players etc etc is basically a bit of dribble OR a well intentioned, get their names out there, comment, most probably from a mate.
Having said that I think they will be very good players in the U 19's this year.

does anyone know which players have left from the Reserves & winning U19s GF or arent training anymore - there is a lot of talk about boys coming from the West Coast but none of the current crop trying to move up ..has there been a real clean out?

Players are probably moving on again as promises made to promote their juniors have hit a hurdle like last year.
More interstate recruits & big $$$ is the way to go in there eyes.
So much for an interview i heard last year on junior development by their general manager on 5AA.
Same as what ive heard apparently from their chairman of selectors. (we've got too many interstate players) & (we have to do more to promote our kids)
Encouragement & positive feed back to your juniors.
Thats why your losing alot of your juniors & they head to country & Amatuers.
Nothings changed!

We get nothing but good reports from the west coast. They seem to look after the country lads from what i have heard.

Your calling those who took you to task about your intial stupid statement "tools" because you were too stupid to actually clarify what part of the SANFL comp you meant???

When you look up the meaning of the word "tool" in the dictionary you will see a cross reference to your user name and stupid. I think that about sums it up.

Your point was very well made WCP. I just can't understand the "newbie" having to call sensible posters "tools"?

On a positive note,Steve Eichner who was horrificly injured in the 2006 state game at Adelaide Oval is well on his road to recovery and playing again. He is doing full training ATM,and is set to come back.He is a little stronger having gained some weight.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

This question is a different thread but PA recruited Roc Harry from the Eagles a few years back and he seemed to disappear during last season. I thought he could play a bit, is he still at Alberton???

Look fellas i got a bit fired up the other day with my tools comment but i've seen these guys play and just know what they're capable of! So sorry if i offended anyone. Played footy with all of these guys in rep footy and they should all make the grade. One has a slight drinking problem and commitment issues but if he can sort that out he is the one with the most potential of the group who could go all the way!

Point taken leonidis but lots of blokes come into the SANFL thinking they can play (even from the AFL) but they soon find out that unless you are super dedicated and prepared to do the hard yards you get found out....

It is a bloody good standard of footy so far above that of country and ammos it ain't funny...

(I've seen a SANFL under 19s team smash a country A grade side by 15 goals - imagine what a league side can do???)

He left a quarter of the way through the year as he wasnt getting league games.

Could play a bit but had some major flaws in his game that he couldnt eradicate. Disposal being the main one. One of those players that dominated at reserves level but just couldnt improve enough to be a first 18 player.
