This from a pretty reliable source - the Eagles are not chasing a ruckman to replace Lindsay. The Eagles definitely need another ruckman, although Dabrowski only missed one game through injury in 2007, he missed 15 in 2006. Apart from the inexperienced Jonno Lee the club has nothing else that looks like a league ruckman.

What about Pedersen? I know he left mid-way through the season this year, but with more opportunity, could he be back in 2008?

We look to be right for tall forwards. Hopefully one or two of these can develop into key backmen. Also Staple should be pressing for league selection if he doesn't get drafted interstate.

If 2 quality midfielders can be signed then I'd be confident the Eagles can press for finals again. Particularly if Salter stays in Adelaide.

I personally think the draft holds the key to the eagles in 2008 what players the eagles lose and then what players the eagles can poach I mean  bring across the borders .
There is always the chance the Eagles could pick up some more SANFL players from other clubs. Don't like doing it but if other clubs pick afl offcasts so why not.
Lets not forget some of the boys coming home who have not made it in the AFL system or been drafted back to the 2 afl teams.

And who thinks Biglands will play every game as the number 1 ruckman for the crows?

Mickyj - Biglands may not play all the games for the Crows as the number one ruckman, but he will definitely play as the number 2.
Biglands will be ready to go at the start of the AFL season. Possibly could have played at the end of 2007 season.

Stuart Hill (18 yo) is too slight to ruck at league level. 6' 3" is not tall enough to ruck at SANFL level these days. Occasionally was thrown into ruck as a pinch hitter doing a reserves game. Should develop in to a tall forward or tall backman.

Have heard that Daniel Roberts could be returning to WWT in 2008.
Big strong young ruckman who played a handful of league games in 2005 as an 18 year old kid.
Originally from Hahndorf in the Hills. But spent last season playing at Gepps Cross.
I believe he is the son of the Roberts who played VFL/AFL football with Sydney.
Plenty of potential and a brilliant athlete.
