I'm sure Centrals and Eagles supporters are bored of seeing each other at the finals too.

Here, here, we want to face someone else in the GF. CD have enough flags for now.

Odd comment. IF you make the GF, you have no choice who you will play.

I can understand the neutral supporters frustration, but surely this is what makes our comp great - the fact that if teams are good enough they can continue to be successful, unlike the AFL and its equalisation policies. Makes ours a pure competition.

Have to agree with that. While it is frustrating for the supporters of other clubs it is up to those clubs to be good enough to stop Central or the Eagles. It's not the fault of those clubs. Why wouldn't they want to get there. I wouldn't get bored having my team in the GF every year. Hopefully North can start a run of GF's and hopefully flags as well this year :D

It's not a given it will be Eagles vs Dogs.
I believe North will play the Dogs in a GF, & what's more, North will win it.

Good luck to whoever makes it, I actually reckon it would be facinating to see teh Eagles and Dogs go at it again, esp after the Eagles win last year I reckon it would be a cracker, esp as they havent meet in the finals until the GF this year....

those that think it would be boring dont truely love the SANFL to be honest

that being said I reckon North will win this week

Agree PR, Roosters will start comfortable favourites, but will they play to their potential for long enough?

Would people's attitudes be any different if it was say Bays v Legs or Sturt v North as the dominant rivals over the last few years?

You also believed North would win yesterday. And Collingwood on Friday night. I'm happy for you to continue tipping in this fashion.

North to do a "Sturt in 2002". ie win qualifying, lose second semi, win prelim, win granny. That'll shake the comp up (well in the short term atleast).

The footy on display yesterday was great for South Australia. You can't beat the value for money at watching two close games of footy. Being an Eagles fan, it was an absolute ripper of a contest verse the Bays (again!). We moved to the Hill from the stands, and there was definately more Eagles fans in the stands. You can't blame parents for keeping their kids away from the grog and language on the hill. It's f**king disgraceful!!
Having said all that, bring on another close contest next week. GO Eages!

Sledge NFC if you must, but hands off the NFC. You've still got a lot of catching up to do in terms of flags. Now bring out the usual Dog cliches.

IMO, if the Eagles beat North (I think the Cocks will get up), then I dips my hat.
To some it may be a yawn (myself included) BUT, if the Eagles & Doggies get there
again, then once again the benchmark has been set and it's up to the other clubs to
better it.
As we saw yesterday, and last weekend, 14 points separated three games, which is a
great story for the SANFL. It means the clubs are closer to each other than not, but at the
end of the day whether you win by 1 or 100 if you get in the GF you are the team that the
others need to emulate...If that's not enough motivation for other clubs to get up to standard
then we should just give up now...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

I believe this is a valid topic of discussion because it would have been on the minds of every non Centrals/Eagles supporter when they heard the results yesterday. Don't take it personally Centrals/Eagles fans - it is nothing against you.

But it is so obvious that another Eagles-Centrals grand final would be a disaster from a marketing point of view, and it is a huge shame if that is what happens yet again.
As a true lover of the SANFL, I am actually feeling more sorry for the competition than for Glenelg about us losing yesterday.

Lets face it, centrals and eagles have been brilliant over the past 8 years, no question there, everything they do just seems to work, even when half of the dogs retire, they find someone else better. BUT... another dogs/eagles grand final, would be like getting teeth pulled for the rest of us, but then again the rest of the clubs should be taking a leaf out of their books to be as good if not better, crikey...centrals dominant era should have finished 4 or 5 years ago, so what are we doing about it? good luck to the last 3 teams and their fans anyway.

Why? I would have thought the result last year means another Eagles/Dogs GF would be a great promotional tool with Doggies wanting sweet revenge and Eagles going to back to back which would be a fantastic achievement?

If Dogs won last year yes it it would be tough to market but I reckon it would be fascinating as a neutral if it happens again

What rubbish. I'll still pay whatever it is to get in but that doesn't mean I won't find another Eagles/Centrals GF boring.
