Agreed. Five Grand Finals (as League coach) in a row since taking over after the unsuccessful 2002 season. An era in its own right.

I reckon Thevenard (in the Far West Football League - around Ceduna) made a stupidly high number of grand finals in a row, something like 15, maybe higher - but I cannot dig up any evidence to support this.

NFC, have you noticed you're the only one still sprouting that crap?

Look at the squad Laird took over in 2003 and compare it to the current squad. My guess would be 80% turnover, possibly more.

To have sustained the success as he has is a terrific effort and I'm not sure many could have done the same job.

Seven of the 2nd Semi Final side played in the 2003 GF, three of those (Gowans x 2 & Slade) played in the 2001 GF.
