Fair enough i reckon.
I was concerned that Mahoney would have been rested from the bay game because of the Wilson injury.
Turns out it was Lonie that was rested.

Looks good for Lonie, right in contention to be playing in the GF next week.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

BPBRB wrote:It is Port's right to do what they want with their players. Lonie is a handy player as is Damian White who didn't get through training during the week so was never really in the mix. North recruited well enough not to have to rely on AFL listed players and in the end that had nothing to do with the final result today.

What might have made a difference would have been:
1. Straight kicking from at least 10 "getable" shots although Centrals seemed to catch that dsiease but moreso after they had firm* control of the game. It must frustrate the hell out of the players dwon field to see our fwds despite some aerial dominance miss so many easy shots! Gill's two last quarter misses costy us any chance of a win in the end despite any of the other misses previously.
2. Finding some leg speed in the midfield and out of contested packs - Centrals killed us all day in that regard. Allan is clearly nowhere near 100 percent, Motlop should never have played with his ankle and his apparant desire not to win a fifity-fifty ball. Our other on ballers are not the quickest - Younie, Ladhams Howard, Krieg and Sporn. Not having Ryswyk's pace out wide is also hurting us. Bamford, he has been a great servant but had a quiet one and gave no drive inbto the fwds all day. Even adding to the fact that both our Capt and Vice Capt can't get fit enough wouldn't have helped us because both of them are slow. Not too many other options at Prospect in that regards and in the warmer weather and on the big grounds we are struggling to give quick movement into the Fwds.
3. Not cough up the ball with the tight in and under pressure that Centrals applied all day. I thought we did okay for a half but the endless tackle and pack pressure to it's toll and Centrals were able to control the game.

It will take a big turnaround to lift those parts of our game to get over the Eagles again.

Agree with everything BPBRB.

Just how fit was Ladhams and Motlop today?
And don't forget the out on the full from Wundke in the 1st qtr when taking a set shot. Centrals took it straight down the other end and goaled. That made it a 12 point turnover in my book.

Like you said though, Centrals did miss their fair share of easy shots too

Stay on topic please.

Oops. Apologies Dogs01 Practice what you preach springs to mind. got sucked in

No worries mate just a bit of fun. I think we might see you guys in 2 weeks, not real convinced by eagles today.
Sort of back on topic, what happens (if anyone actually knows) after the afl Gf with guys like Lonie and also Westhoff for the dogs(if the power let them play), are they able to play in the sanfl Gf???

What has everyone got against Baloney anyway? Try frying it, it makes for quite a tasty morsel.

Mate. I have no problem that we have lost today. Read my posts. We were beaten by a better side today. We tried our best but it wasn't good enough today. End of story.

No excuses so don't troll. This was a good thread with some good posts and points of view.
All you have done is come on and made a pointless "Get Over It  " comment which is just rolling IMHO. I don't see anywhere on here any complaints or sulks, so if you don't want to contribute to the thread in a constructive way, then don't bother posting at all, just don't troll is all I'm saying.

It seems to me, it's you that has a chip on youor shoulder.

That sounds like a movie title. It could be a war epic, but with ugly, gnarled things hiding under the bridge, eating unsuspecting soldiers as they walk over.

Gee and your club told Perie he wasn't needed in the finals

FFS I hope your post is tongue in cheek as I don't think Perrie would be very handy on the wing or as a long kicking running player.

I and North would have known all week that Lonie wasn't playing, the Power have done it to us before and they'll do it to us again, we don't rely on our AFL players as much as we used to and it wouldn't have made on skerrick of difference today.

Mind you it would be nice if the Power did it to other clubs in finals too!

Yep like take Brad Symes out today!

I can't work out what he has done to Choko that he has been left at Centrals all year (what a bonus for them)? Everytime I see him play he plays very well, is cool under pressure and racks up the stats! Surely he must ask to be traded or possibly another club (The Crows?) will look at him - he is better than 2 or 3 in both the Power and Crows given the position he plays IMO?

Hey, as a Geelong fan I'm quite happy that Choke Oh will take the wrong players into the GF.

Given a choice and if allowed to, would LONIE have risked playing for NA
with a chance of injury and missing an AFL final ?

LONIE now plays an AFL final, thats the consolation prize for missing a game today.
PP has a fresh and fit player and likely to benefit.
NA the club has been shafted.

Hypothetically what would have compounded this matter even further
is if NA seconds had played Saturday and needed a player who played
the day before to take LONIES spot.....

PS Was Damon WHITE rested by PP as well ?or could he have played for NA as well ?

MAL, Lonie is no moral to play next week for the Power and hasnt been promised anything. He was pulled out today just to safeguard their interests and would be 1 of about 3 possible inclusions.
D. White injured a driver muscle therefore didnt play.

I know North wouldn't have been counting on him and he is a Port player first and foremost but still think North is a bit unlucky as the chances of Lonie playing on Saturday in the AFL GF would be remote at best IMHO.
