Brown was captain of the Port Adelaide Magpies in 1999-2000. Brown was a member of Port Magpies premiership teams on 6 occasions - in 1988, 1989, 1992, 1996, 1998, 1999, and won the Jack Oatey Medal for best on ground in the Grand Final in 1996.

Now,thread back on track.

If Michael Godden gets the job would former team mate Norman stay on?

Anyway, getting the thread back on track, there was an article in today's 'Tiser that mentioned Luke Norman is the favourite for the coaching position, which is something I guess we all already knew, but there were a few quality applications that came out of the blue...

I think Norman is a shoe in and hope he does a good job, except when they play Centrals :wink:

Channel 9 news tonight said Luke Norman is about to be appointed...but without Ian Pierie who has retired.

Probably the worst kept secret around but the club did need to see who else was putting their hand up.

I'd be interested in knowing who the other applicants were, I read somewhere that the board at Sturt were suprised at the qulaity of some of the applicants despite the fact it was advertised later than usual with the unexpected deaparture of Rick Macgowan...
