I much preferred it when we played our GF after the AFL one, gave it a bit of clean air, now it's lost amongst AFL prelim hype

And the AFL pointeth with thine biggeth finger:
"Thou shalt not have thine place in the sun!"
Next, AFL spoke unto the People:
"Thou shalt not watcheth SANFL!"
Next AFL waved thine hands:
"Release the Clowns!"

Great stuff,5 games of footy on a Saturday.
Just like the good old days.
Someone even posted the crows had at least 300 supporters at Unley today!.

I think it's fair to say that the Eagles and Sturt are the form sides of the comp atm with 5 and 7 wins on the trot respectively.
Under normal programming they'd be due to play each other in 2 weeks time as Sturt has played everyone except Glenelg, and the Eagles were the first side we played. There should be a return bout, which could be considered a blockbuster of sorts given the current form of both sides.
Instead, Sturt will play 5 teams a second time, plus another bye. This means what might be a blockbuster right now will not be played for another 7 weeks. Who knows what their form will be like by then.
Tams should play each other once every eleven weeks (bye included) at the most.

What a perfect day for footy in Adelaide.
Trouble is only one game of football being played.
It makes no sense at all.

Game time for the magpies and the roosters.
It seems the Olympic Games went longer than the footy season!
A sigh of relief from the SANFL that these teams didn't finish top.
They would have had to wait 3 weeks for their next game!

Reserves Semi Finals this week are at Norwood. Which means 1st placed Eagles play away to 2nd placed Norwood. Then the games the week after are at Woodville. If someone had to have a Home Ground advantage surely I. Should have been the higher ranked side.

Just be thankful if umpires rock up! The SANFL don't care.

Funny that Norwood get a home final in the reserves. Well done SANFL again. We must be paying unders to our exec's for max output at head office.
Just on a side note Norwood Oval must have the worst playing surface in the league.

Nup, Richmond comfortably, it's an ankle strappers nightmare.

Absolute cow paddock! Can't believe the league let Alberton go to the SAAFL for a Division 7 GF

I hear Richmond oval was pretty bad on Sunday.
Stay away from there please.
Norwood is great for spectators, close to the city,
has a great viewing platform and if it rains you are covered.
