Supporter base? LOL. A few people here bring it up and Statto goes to the archives.

Actually was just a copy & paste job of an old post

Ill remember next time to keep stats and the truth out of it :)

The vast majority of us are still basking in the glory of a brilliant gutsy effort on Sunday but you choose to pick a fight with the one or two who mention 96. Nice try at deflection.

Noone is forcing you to respond.

Maybe it's because you don't want to answer why, with everything to play for like Bob Quinn, much better form and Norwood losing three players to injury, you still weren't able to beat us. Maybe it was John Cahill's stirring pre-match address? Nice one Tim.

Can we play you each week?

Or maybe we just arent good enough? Ive said my opinion on why we lost earlier in the thread. But its ok, considering a Norwood finals appearance has become such a rare event, bask in it all you like :)

Im sorry but your repetitive - somewhat deliberate - fudging of the statistics to make it sound worse than it was does more to perpetuate any myth about that day than me posting pics.

You had more free kicks at 3/4 time than what you beleive you had in the whole game.

The free kick count, according to the ABC telecast, was 15-9 at 3/4 time in favour of Port. Port recieved 7 free kicks to 3 in the last quarter. 3 of Ports 7 free kicks were out on the fulls. None of Norwoods were, so a relative free kick count of 4-3 in the last quarter....terrible stuff. The final free kick count was 22-12.

Port recieved 3 free kicks in their forward 50 in the second half:

1 for Daniels running too far (or holding the ball as he was tackled as well), 1 for a deliberate throw by D'Antochia, and the Hodges free (the only one in the last quarter).

For Port to have had more frees in their forward 50 than Norwood did the whole day, 10 of their 11 first half free kicks would have had to have been in the forward line which is completely fanciful.

Any other bull s***t you want corrected while we're at it here, or is that enough?

My good man your anger is misplaced. I have run the 'spell-check' over the free kick statistics of that match as it was my recollection (not a deliberate fudging of the statistics as you suggest) that was recorded in my post. The resultant answer from out esteemed SANFL statistician was in fact Port 24 free kicks to Norwood 11.

Now you obviously have spent many joyful hours watching that match that was gifted to you again and again and why wouldn't you? I have to rely on a dodgy memory pained by a quick glance at the newspaper 12 years ago. A thousand pardons if my memory isn't as good as your dutiful adherence to the ABC replay. If spell-check is right (and I'd back him) then I was closer to the mark than you were. You will gladly lap up anything that supports your point so you can trott out such gold as 'fabricated statistics' to make you feel better about the gift you recieved that day.

Now if you were as good at reading as you are at writing you might have noticed that my main beef with the umpiring that day was what WASN'T PAID more than what actually was. So the fact that the Legs bottled it in the last quarter and coughed up some clangers is actually irrelevant to the point I was trying to make.

Bullshit corrected? Try bullshit corrections.

I can send you a copy if you like!

I'd back him too, but it would suggest the truth was right in the middle.

'fabricated statistics' to make you feel better about the gift you recieved that day.

Whilst the total free kick count might be somewhere in the middle, the whole 'Port recieved more frees in the forward line than Norwood did all day' was still a blatantly wrong.

Now if you were as good at reading as you are at writing you might have noticed that my main beef with the umpiring that day was what WASN'T PAID more than what actually was.

Well thats just a matter of opinion, which you are well entitled to. I also dont see what Neil Craigs opinion has to do with anything.

I think we'll just leave it there for now.....until someone brings up that match again in a couple months time

No worries Macca. I'll respectfully decline your offer of the tape though. Once was enough! :(
