In relation to the free kick paid to Schwartze after the half time siren after an indiscretion by Kirk - what if the same thing happened down the other end of the ground in Glenelg's forward line and Kirk hit Schwartze? It would have been Schwartze in the back pocket - big deal, no damage. Seems unfair really.

From what I understand, a free kick is taken from either the spot of the infrigement or where the ball currently is - whichever is closest to the recipients goal. A couple of umps around here will no doubt correct me if I am wrong.

it was Luke Jarrad who got the free
don't balme anyone else except Kirk for what he did
the same lack of discipline cost them the game in the draw a Woody oval
they only have themselves to blame not the umpires or anyone else
I was walking past the Glenelg changeroom at halftime and could hear Mark Mickan yelling his lungs out at his players for what had just happened
end result was a goal too

the resultant free kick which resulted in a goal which was the final margin wasnt the reason we lost yesterday

we had plenty of opportunities in the last 1/4 to win it, but we werent good enough on the day..........

I dont think undiscipline cost us in the drawn game at woody.

Well I think if Glenelg had kicked goals instead of points and out of bounds on the full in the third quarter the end result might have been different.BUT also the EAGLES kicked poorly in the first term 8 straight instead of 4 goals 4 points might ahve knocked the wind out of glenelg.

If your player had not shirt fronted Jarrad after his woeful shot on goal the game would have been a draw.If the glenelg player could have knocked the ball out of bounds instead of that fantastic soccer kick from Symonds the game would have been drawn.
And once again I will say IF is a very big word in footy.
There were other factors as well. Both teams had trouble with handballs Dobbers in the last quarter straight to a bays player that resulted in a goal .But Glenelg over did the handball.
Two weeks in a row I watched Glenelg attack the northern end goal from the pocket which was very hard to score goals.
Both teams had differing styles of entering the fifty Glenelg tried to do it correctly and this at times lead to trunovers .Where as the EAGLES appeared to be using any means to get the ball forward.Just look at Ben Schwarze's fisrt goal the ball was moved along the memebers flank very ugly handballs and kicks .But then one good kick to the hot zone and goal resulted.

So well done bays a good result from a bad start .

all season long our first 1/4's have been terrible but we have always got ourselves back into each game and given ourselves a chance of winning, just like yesterday........

there are a lot of IFS and BUTs, not only from yesterdays game but the whole season.......

what KIRK did was undisciplined, but in no way did it have an effect on the end result in my view.

You mention glenelg over-did the handball - but all year long we have handballed a lot in our games, in fact I would go as far to say that our goal of the year was a result of handballs from the back pocket near the point post all the way up the ground against Sturt at home a few weeks back. In fact i think we have kicked a few goals as a result of good linking handballs.

Mighty Tiger I wasn't knocking the bays but the last two weeks they appear to be over doing the handball .thats all and going to the wrong pocket to the northern end.

Hell your lot appear to be the fastest team in the finals series and my lot are probably the worst team to make the finals (outside of sturt falling in a LEH hole  ).

I would say winning 60% of the games we played during the Minor Round was a HUGE improvement from our shocking performance of 15% in 2006.
