Well, will certainly be interesting to see how he goes next year.

Ive only ever encountered 1 North fan that didn't like Hargs. 99.9% love him but even some that love him felt it was time he gave it away due to injuries, etc.
(I wasn't one of them)

Jimmy, Alarge majority of North people are upset by the fact he has gone and more to the point how it was all handled but at the end of the day the decision has been made, business is business and the Football Operations Committee made the decision moving forward. Tough decisions get made at all clubs. He's not the first player to leave North under "less than desirable circumstances" and he won't be the last. Whether the decision was right or wrong or whether Hargs would have been valuable in 2007 will only be proven when the next year ends and Jars and co. will live or die by that. However a lot of supporters say it was overdue and that the writing was on the wall. Personal opionion I guess and who are we to judge?

95% percent of North people only care if the club is financially sound and that the league side is successful (Finals each year and hopefully a flag or two). Knowing alot of people from other SANFL clubs that would be the common thinking at most clubs in the main.

Yep, spot on mate ... We can all be upset over the way in which some things are handled at our clubs, but at the end of the day I think people who put any individual before the club have their priorities slightly askew.

I liked Hargraves and grew up from age 17 to age 24 watching him through tough times. He was a cult figure at the club and one I will miss. This will be made worse when he will be playing against us in opposition colours. However I felt his time was up this year and that we were not good enough to win the premiership with him in the team. Who knows mabee we could have snared him a flag in his last season which I really wish we could have given him.

He would have been a handy back up in 2007. If a guy is 31 and not in ur best side I think you have to move him on and thats what the club has done.

Age and injuries have caught up with him. He doesnt dive for marks and refuses to chase. That is what you port fans can expect. He will still take some marks with strength, he will take some on the lead and also drop some on the lead as his hands are not squeeky clean.

For mine he will do a passable job against the lesser sides and be exposed by good teams. In a weak Port forward line he probably deserves a spot.
Never give a sucker an even break

Nor ban a user for an acceptable topic of discussion.

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

He dived for this one:

but yeah I know what ya mean, even his best goal for the season in the Grog Squad pocket at Prospect was one he should have dived for, didn't, got it on the half volley, got around the South defender and slotted it from the boundary.

I know off a few North supporters who while dissapointed he had to go, thought it needed to be done to move forward.

Good luck to him next season, I hope his football is better than his lawn bowls was the other night.

Don't judge a man by his lawn bowls....

However to paraphrase:

remember bowls is is a game of skill, touch and patience. A true revealer of character.

Actually with Hargy having a bung knee - does he have one of those claws that he can send em down with?

Nah, its for those who find golf boring and want to stay closer to the bar.
Big Grenville plays for the club I played again last week (Rosewater).

Good enough for Grenville, good enough for me! ;)

Sorry, I digress from the topic.

The great man Barrie Robran is also a very keen lawn bowler and he hardly made an impression at any other sport from my hazy recollection? Football, Cricket, Basketball etc etc.
