There is a game in Melbourne that Sat Night - Collingwood v St Kilda @ MCG ... could be the curtain raiser?

Hoping so.

Would have thought the main consideration would be that the AFL game was a Foxtel game and I doubt the Collingwood v St Kilda will be a Foxtel game. That would be a free to air game for sure. Foxtel wouldnt set up cameras and organise commentators when the AFL game is not being covered by them.

I thought the game could be played anywhere. As long as it can be televised.

Yep, was on Saturday evening if memory serves. Caught most of it at the in-laws'.

To save time wading through the AFL BugPond site, for those interested, here are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Quarter links.

NT Thunder and Morningside played before the Crows v Hawks at AAMI which was a CH10 game.

Which game the Fox cup or the AFL game, or both?
Brisbane v Freo was the Foxtel AFL game that night and Foxtel still broadcasted the Foxtel Cup match prior to the Crows v Hawks which was covered by CH10.

Wouldn't be funny if the Magpies lost to the East Coast Eagles. Would be right up there with the Gold Coast loss. :D :D :D

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

This is probably running well into the realm of "Off Field Discussion", however, from what I can gather:-

Out of the five broadcast FTC matches to date, three (games 2, 3 and 4) have preceded Fox broadcast AFL matches from the same venue. All of those FTC games were scheduled 2h:55m before their respective Fox covered AFL match. I'd estimate that FTC matches would generally run in the order of 1h:45m to 1h:50m (?)

Game 1 at Football Park (Morningside / NT) did indeed precede the Adelaide v Hawthorn game broadcast by Channel 10. This FTC match started 90 minutes earlier - 4h:25m with respect to the AFL start.

Game 5 from Bellerive (Clarence vs Claremont) was a standalone game. As far as I can tell, Fox's only AFL commitment that day was at Football Park, finishing 2 hours earlier.
