or were North just bullshotting the poor bloke after they found someone better?
Doesn't sound very professional to me.

So you are accusing a club of breaking the rules because they told a player they couldn't sign them or they'd be breaking the rulesJust when you think the posts on this site can't get any more stupid up they pop.
PS - Can you explain why you were trying to make "at least one" a url for us? If you have no basic comprehension of how things work it is best to stick to the basics.

Isn't that what you want clubs checking their figures and then saying no we can't afford you as we'll be over the cap???
The fact is clubs don't just deal with one palyer at a time. If players try to hold out and "negotiate" better deals and clubs sign other players in the meantime - where does it leave the club.
North have done nothing wrong here IMO.

Spot on Dash except the "we can't afford you" is just an excuse.
My "mail" on a certain player is that player X accepted an original deal offered by "a club" but then had his Manager counter 2 or 3 times which priced him out. The official line re the cap is just another way of telling him "to get ....". It also didn't help that a number of other clubs were "dealing" with him and apparently a few clubs spoke to each other over the dubious nods the player and his manager were giving. Apparently the name of a another current SANFL player who has done similar over the past 2 off seasons was mentioned as "setting the bullshit standard" to drive their own price up with their existing club!

FWIW my (impeccable) mail is that far more is being made out of this fishing trip than what actually transpired. Let's just wait and see what the end result is.
