18.2 is fair kicking

Saw the last 10 minutes on the ABC. Good signs for both clubs I think.

Pretty good game of footy, well done to the NAFC for the win but the Eagles can take plenty away from the game, their ball movement in particular in the last 1/4 was superb, North controlled it for most of the day but it was one of those games that you seemed to know that the Eagles were still in it. Both sides have a lot to look forward to in 08, as for North some more injuries out of today, how serious they are time will tell with Jimmy Allen basically only playing a 1/4 and has some sort of hip complaint and Luke Ivens evidently taken to hospital, few others at 3/4 time being worked on in a big way.

Thanks for the crowd figure. 2500 is a tad disappointing. Granted the crows were playing though.

Yeah, I realise North did nothing in the last 10 mins, but i was speaking in more general terms.

Archard sounds like he a had a decent day :?

Well done to North Adelaide today the far better team on the day .North should have killed the eagles by 7 goals. With 7 shots on goals hitting the goal post .
But the EAGLES didn't give up and got back to within one goal with a never give up spirit .
Both teams will improve so watch out in 08.
My only whine would be to the old age pensioner members of North Adelaide who complained about me supporting my team in the grand stand. They kept complaining and saying Memebers only in this stand move out .You belong out side .I kindly pointed out the sign said Members and tickets HOLDERS and hence my yelling got louder and more often .
Well done again North look forward to the next time these 2 meet.

cheers

if it was 2500 I reckon thats a good crowd seeing the cows were playing, the dicey weather etc, most were North supporters even when the Eagles were flying home like a steam train out of control there was hardly any noise from their supporters,

As for Archard, showed a fair bit and will only get better when he gets used to our style of footy

Eagles either kicked goals or out on the full, they had a fair few of those.

North hit the post 7 times but it's unacceptable. We had the game wrapped up and should have at least won by 5 goals, to win by 6 points is a bit ridiculous.

Very good signs today from the Eagles. With a clearly understrength side with many good players sitting in the stands to get within a kick of the Cocks on their home turf was a magnificent effort. Ronnies baby eagles are up and about early. Write us off at your own peril supporters of the other 8 clubs. Well done to North for the win but if I was a North supporter I'd be quite embarrased that they only won by 6 points.

On a side note I do want to point out an incident early in the 4th Qtr. Up the attacking end for the Eagles there was a gutless and soft 3 on 1 attack on Schwarze. Give up the game now boys if all you have to offer is that soft shit. The 3 players in question were (22) Tarquin Brown (clearly annoyed that he'd been handed a toweling from Schwarze most of day, (35) Andrew McIntyre (with soft behaviour like that one wonders how in the hell he made it onto the Crows list) and (52) Tim Delvins. It must be said these guys are an embarrasment to your club.

You obviously weren't sitting anywhere near where I was today because I heard quite a loud eruption in the last qtr when we were hitting back. Obviously we don't have the same supporter base as NAFC but I was disapointed in thelack of red and white I seen out there today. Would have thought the first home game of the year more of your supporters would have got there.

Interesting comments 3 out of the 4 you named were the best 3 players on the ground, but must admit didn't see the incident, perhaps you should enlighten us with what happened,

From what I could hear at the end on tv there were a few Eagles supporters giving it their all.
Also, after the siren, I could distinctly hear a number of Hybrids consoling their boys and commenting that they'd tried "bloody hard" and kept battling.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

They probably were but I moved around from eastern to western wing, I just thought in the last 1/4 when the Eagles were kicking goal after goal there didn't seem much noise, I was over on the eastern side then so it may well have been the case of the wind blowing their support away, but they were right, they did try very hard and didn't throw in the towel, hopefully next game both sides will have the 6 to 7 players they had out today and make it a real classic

Not sure how it started - but Brown and Scwarze were locked in a grip preety tame sort of stuff before McIntyre and Delvins made a beeline towards Schwarze a punch to the ribs landed by one of the latter on schwarze, a wrestle continued between all 4 before scwarze ended up on the ground. Quite ridiculous and certainly not called for. Didn't see Schwarze do anything at all to provoke the attack. It all started I think out of frustration on Brown's part I think. All though I was amazed there was no support by any of Scwarze's team mates.

What about your No.8 who squibbed it today.Without doubt the most gutless effort I have seen on a footy field.Whoosed out of a potential contest when there was not even a chance of hearing footsteps as no-one was within 20m .....dismal effort son you are an embarrassment to your teamates ..be ashamed be very ashamed .Rightfully dragged immediately.

p.s. the 3-1 incident was not even worth mentioning

p.s.s. Thank you to the 80 Eagles supporters who attended today

As I said didn't see it, can imagine the frustration though, Schwartze was superb today, perhaps you may be reading more into it than there was seeing no other Eagles players got involved and obviously the umps who missed nothing all day didn't see it, lets be honest here at times it was a very tough game with players from both sides throwing a few here and there in packs, after all thats what hard tough footy is all about. Wouldn't worry about that sort of crap actually, if I was an Eagles fan I would be holding my head high tonight, you could have been blown out of the park but you never said die and never gave it in and nearly come away with what would have been one of the clubs best minor round victories
