Bays probably rank 7th as far as skill level goes in the comp but the way they have busted their gut in the last 3 months has been a joy to watch....a great team effort which has provided me with a lot of joy this season

some good selective recruiting to add some polish next year to match the top 3....great turnout by Bay fans making the scorboard hill feel like Snout hill, lost no admirers today....

it was a ploy there were no players subject to injury
don't be surprised the next surprise ron pulls is petrenko and p stewart back in next week
passador and colville may also come back in
ron closed the doors at halftime and gave the boys one almighty blast
he was going that hard his voice was starting to go
he coached very well today
treeby was outstanding

Also I cannot believe the Eagles wore their Yellow jumper today...what a joke? dont they realise that clashes with Glenelg?

quite a few times I got confused as a fan, surely the all blue number would have been perfect?

lift your game eagles...

They have worn the yellow jumper each time against Glenelg this season. I agree with you though, they should have worn the blue and I mentioned that to the people we were standing with today at the ground. Much prefer the blue....

Geez when the Eagles wear blue it doesn't have enough green .When they wear yellow it clashes with the bays jumper.
How the hell did you cope when West torrens played glenelg when they wore the same jumper but blue with a yellow sash.

And going on about a yellow jumper you sound like bloody Cornes you must be feeling sick

McKenzie outstanding today - most versatile player in the SANFL as he helped win the game in the last 1o minutes by going on the ball. Thought it was the Eagles finals experience and hardness that got them over the line today. Glenelg had all the momentum with 10 minutes to go but the Eags shut the game down, drew deep and steadied to prevail. Though the Bays killed us in clearances in the second half, Backwell especially and was disappointed that we didn't man up on him in the last quarter in the centre square. :D :D

I stood with a couple of Glenelg's mates in that game and early on I said wouldn't every other SANFL club kill to have McKenzie in their line-up. I thought he was the difference in the end plus that freakish "soccer" to get the ball to Schwarze who is a bloody good player too considering he was recruited as a defender!

forgot to mention Mickan and the Glenelg captain came in the Eagles rooms after the game and congratulated the Eagles and wished us well for next week and after
well done glenelg
Ron and Justin then went into the bays rooms to have a few words to them
sportsmanship at its best
unlike that swampy mob down the road who refuse to shake hands after a game!

Game was a classic. Glenelg are to be congratulated on a Super Season after a disastrous start.

Sturt, despite losing their last 4 games were brilliant.

Hopefully 2008 will bring on a Bay v Double Blues GF with a similar result to 1969,1970 and 1974 :D :D :D

SP - I thought this was a well done Bays thread, not a well done Sturt thread... ;)

BPBRB - Generally I don't agree with your posts, but your last post was an absolute classic.

About the first gamer Geddes....his coolness, composure and skill to move the ball on quickly around the eastern boundary in the last minute was sensational, it stopped the Bays from being able to flood, eventually allowing Symmonds to have a one on one resulting in a mark and goal to Schwarze.

A great turnaround by Jarrad in his performance from the week before.

Fair enough but I thought the improvement shown by both the Double Blues and the Bays was very significant.

Question? In relation to the free kick paid to Schwartze after the half time siren after an indiscretion by Kirk - what if the same thing happened down the other end of the ground in Glenelg's forward line and Kirk hit Schwartze? It would have been Schwartze in the back pocket - big deal, no damage. Seems unfair really.

Well done to the peckers, most freakish soccer kick I have ever seen to seal the game with seconds to go, I don't think they would have ever practised that type of kick in training!!

Well done tigers for turning a very slow start of the season around, still feeling very devastated but that's life and the U19's and Twos are still amongst the finals campaign.

Good question ML. Also, was the ball "technically" in play. Had looked away by that stage and only saw the replay on the news - looked like legitimate contact and Jarrad didn't take a dive.

That and a few other things reminded me of 2002 when the Eagles lost to Norwood in 1st semi, when their could have easily been an upset except for some undiscipline.
