Their "overreaction" may heve been due to the fact that your team has had the wood on them for a while now and that the NAFC was making a statement that their players could match it with the best...take their excitement at beating centrals as a compliment of how highly the rest of the comp rates Centrals.

Well done North thoroughly deserved the win. Definately the better side on the day.Looked ready to go from the start, and played according all day.

Umpiring wasnt great, but i thought we gave away some silly free kicks and maybe a couple of soft ones were payed, but thats footy.

As for the dogs effort today, nothing to worry about, stops complacency come finals time, makes them more hungrier to beat north when it counts.

Roy experimented today with a few things, kept Schell at full forward all day(i know this is not anything new for him to be up forward, but he has been our best back man all year.) and Havelberg all game in the back line. Also threw a few guys around into different positions.

Dean Howards attack on Hayes was a disgrace typical of the type of footballer he is. He doesnt like going after players when they are looking at him. Hayes had his head over the ball and THE SNIPER charged straight into his head. If he doesnt get atleast 2 the tribunal should be abolished.

Me and Apachebulldog stood infront of the Members stand. A Fabulous atmosphere. Mrs_dog_ger reported Jars was pumped in his box. She was scared by his excitement lol...... The North Faithfull were in full cry...... But never an impolite word against any supporter.... You would travel a long way to experience that atmosphere, that passion. On a good day for footy... Ahhhh SANFL.......

I never complained about the noise, or anything else. My opinion on anything does not need to conform to yours either.

I think, given SMAC had this comment to say, the 'he/she comment' wouldn't have been required.
All the rose colored glasses and lofty heights of high horses had taken over by then. Hope no-one got injured on dismount.

Always good to see the cocks get up*, we've pasted you lot a few times over the last decade. Reminds me a bit of the late season match last year, margin that night could have been the same as this.

It's a pity that our (Centrals) preparation is based on the fact that, in reality, the season only comes down to one match, and as Part-Time Footballers there needs to be a training ramp from about Round 14. The double bye at the end of the round has caused much of our current preparation, so it wouldn't surprise me if we dropped another one or two on the run home.

North - not sure. The two proven recent finalists still look like making it 6 GFs of the last 8. Just IMO.

Well done North on this one - cost me a drink!

I can assume from your expert opinion that you were on the grandstand side right in front of the 'incident'. :( :( :(

I was as a matter of fact and it was in front of me. What has that got to do with the incident.

Where I always am at Prospect in front of the Merchandise booth. I saw the incident differently in as much that while Hayes had his head down for the ball I would hardly call it an attack to his head. No Centrals players remonstrated at all but having said that the head area is sacrosant and the ball player must be protected at all times and if the tribunal is consistant he might get a game. However in my opinion it could be classed on the lower end of the scale.

In the second quarter Wakelin had his head over the ball and got hit high by a Centrals player who stayed upright when he cannoned into him. Free kick paid but no report. It didn't look any different from the Howard incident. Neither incident IMO deserved anything other than a free. The umpires are a joke with their continual lack of consistency.

I think you will find that they did remonstrate with him and with Hayes having the ball about to stand up and run, all Howard had to do is tackle him, but no he had to do a crude hip and shoulder. This type of bump is trying to be outlawed out of the game so a harsh penalty needs to be handed down, or players will think its ok.No matter what end of the scale it was in , it was still a head high bump with force.

Having had time to think further about the game and analyse the stats (not quite the 31-15 free kick count you mentioned Dogger! ) the one area where Central could fall down is in ruck if Griffen doesn't play for them. The most hit outs either of the Dogs ruckman got yesterday was 4, that has to be just an all time low, Ive nevere seen a stat like that.

I was annoyed Schell was up forward as I was really looking forward to him on Alloway, it would have been worth the price of admittance alone.

I thought the report was a joke and I was incensed it was even a free kick as I thought it was a great shirt front by Howard, mind you I was probably 60 metres away from it and I assume it must have looked different side on where the umpire and others may have been.

Spot on wedge i thought the report was a joke from what i saw it looked liked Howard hit him on top of the shoulder and all it warranted was a free kick.

Like you i thought Lairdy would of moved Schelly to full back And Havelberg to full forward after half time to give us a chance of snatching this game.

Also noted the continuous rotation of North players Jars out coached Lairdy on the day.

I have been a bit disappointed with Switalas and especially noodles Wares effort over the last few weeks he seems to be running around in circles and achieving nothing would like to see his stats i reckon i counted maybe 3 kicks and a cupla handballs, what do u doggy boys reckon ???

Congratulations to North on the win. Exactly what we wanted to see, keeping the Eagles out of the top three.
Hopefully, we will start bouncing back next week against South and then start moving up a cog for the game against Sturt the following week. I think that match will be a better guide to how Central are placed this year. The hard training will be over and there will be no excuses if we do not win.
Am a little concerned about our forward effectiveness. Without Justin Westhoff, Luke Cowan or Quinno Graham, we look a little bit thin. Rucks will not be a problem - we win finals by roving to opposition taps anyway (thanks Paul Lindsay for always finding our rovers *grins*)
Cheers!

Good win by the Roosters.

I wasn't entirely disappointed to have lost this one. A good wake-up call. All teams need them every now and again.

What rubbish- Dean Howard goes in hard, & North have lacked a player of Dean's toughness for a few years.
That incident was not reportable.
& the irony of a Central supporter claiming that we have a sniper...

Centrals couldn't care less about dropping that game - their team didn't try and already planned to drop the game which would account for the poor turnout of Dogs fans at the game - they must have got don't bother turning up emails sent from the club.
