The Tigers smashed Woodville/West Torrens today by 51 points at the Bay, whilst North slipped from third to fourth in the final round after going down to Port in a thriller by three points at Alberton today.
Port and Glenelg will now square off next Saturday afternoon at Norwood Oval, most likely a 10:00am start.
The winner will play Sturt in the second semi final, with that winner to progress to the grand final.
The loser will play the winner of North/South in the first semi final.
U/17 Final Five Ladder Placings
1 Sturt (20 games) 38 pts
2 Port (20) 30 pts
3 Glenelg (20) 23 pts
4 North (20) 22 pts
5 South (20) 22 pts

The four qualifying finals that these two teams have met were in 5 seasons - 1979, 1981, 1982 and 1983. The last time these teams have met in a 17s final was in the Elimination Final of 1984:
Glenelg 3.1 7.5 9.7 12.11 (83)
Port 2.6 3.9 5.11 7.12 (54)

Interesting stats, Spelly, but very irrelevant for an under 17 comp, wouldn't you think? After all, it's not as if any of the current day U17 players would likely to have been involved in more than 5 head to head games.

In that case, why quote any overall or finals head-to-head stats for any comp? Since often over 99% of the previous games haven't involved the current players...
Boo Maxyoz for upsetting our stats guru! Surely he is allowed to show off the latest section of his ever-expanding SANFL records?

Ok I didn't realise I had to explain why but basically Lycett and Solly will be the difference between the teams assumeing neither club decides to stack there side with kids who have been playing 19's.
Port going to get first look at the ball even though the Glenelg ruckman has a real future as well.
